And it's not like theyre huge performance differences anyway. Mitha vs Taru BLM is not that different at the end of the day.

Hope I read this wrong, or that I'm just flat out wrong. Otherwise...why did we all choose different races and what were the benefits/disadvantages of it?
That was me, and its not exactly equal, i think Hume BLM pulls to within 1 INT.

Edit: And I'll be home around 6PM EST to post stat growth ratings.

Errr... yes there is. There was an 8ish INT difference between the races before this update? Mithra has Morrigan's Robe, I have Igqira Weskit, other gear being the same I nuke for more damage.
It's okay, because they have more MP so they'll be able to nuke longer, right? ...Nope.
But that's okay, because they survive longer due to their higher HP, right? There are times that 100 HP will make a difference, but you don't run in to them often if you're playing with skilled players.

It's like claiming an Elvaan and Taru DD are the same at 75. If the Taru has full HQ Abjurations and the Elvaan has full NQ, the Elvaan still has more Strength.

Skill > Gear > Race is true, but if you're playing with equally geared and skilled players then it just comes down to race.

Elvaan vs Taru is something like a 13 INT difference at 75, 12 at 80.

While stat gains invert, HP and MP don't. Tarus will continue to get greater than or equal MP to other races and lower HP.

(Calculator site says I gained 9 HP, but looking at screenshots I went up by 10)

The only caveats are the inflection points, which causes slower growth later, especially at 60 when effectively the ranks switch. Suddenly after 60, an A+ rank grows as if something like rank E .. but a rank E grows as if rank B (or something, I'm working off memory since I'm at work)
You don't need a lot of info, but you do need some, and I have received very little so far. Also, if it were solely the job growth stats that needed to be figured out it would be fairly easy. The real problem is that you also have race growth stats, and you need a fair bit of info to disentangle the two from each other (ie: multiple jobs per race, multiple races per job).

Well as a Mithra RDM/WHM I had a base of 67 MND at 75, then at 78 it went up to a base of 70 and still 70 at 80.

    Forgot to check INT.

Dammnit, I seem to have misplaced my extended calculator to 99. Guess I'll need to re-make.

    Edit:

I just hand calculated Mithra RDM/WHM and the calculator and I agree you should have 71 MND, not 70, which means SE screwed with the calculations post 75.

For the individual components I got 27MND from race (Rank E), 32MND from RDM (Rank C), and 12MND from WHM (Rank A)

I gain 2 CHR going from 79 to 80, guess this makes hitting the 120 cap a little easier.

Am I really the only one who did a double take at 5 string skill on the previous page? I'm not a BRD - is it really that useless?

The only really helpful String-based song is Paeon. Most Bards completely undervalue Paeon, hence String often doesn't get touched.

String is great for Gjallarhorn-less BRDs who find their way into a BLM party. Makes it a lot easier to hit everyone with ballads.
