Heh, I saw some of those Tribe members last time. One thing I really like about the PVP BGs in this game is that you can get gear through them as "loot" from dead players if you start to get on a roll. I remember getting a ton of shit on my acher/BM.

Looks like Trion has just hired Ayase from NCwest(Aka Aion), and will be heading the CM team in Europe. Personally I think Aion lasted as long as it did in the west because of him. Glad he left and is now with a good company.

I've seen a few of the RIFT videos and in HD or with high settings they look fairly good, just wondering from those who have played in the Beta tests what you opinion of the character models and overall graphics are like compared to some of the other current and upcoming mmo's.

The character models lean towards LOTRO style without being quite as horrible. Completely western without looking like cartoons.

There's nothing pretty about them to me but i prefer the eastern style models to western.

They remind me of a next-gen Dungeon Siege, which is to say, very Western. They aren't very high or low fantasy, they're just... models, haha. They animate well enough, and there's quite a few good animations for each race. I love my Mathosian male's 2-handed sword animations, especially the default stance and the walking animation, since he just lightly holds the sword in both hands. I haven't seen such a relaxed stance in awhile.

The overall graphics are very nice on maxed settings. The world is colorful, the trees look well done, there's a lot of light and bloom without going overboard, and the world itself lends itself to the believable. I'm looking forward to the upcoming beta to really dig back into the meat of the game.

They apparently added Valor/Toughness stats for PVP.

Im not seeing the problem. I'd rather see Valor = +pvp dmg rather than - pvp dmg...Ugh I hope they aren't planning on loading up pve gear with it...
