they dont get the free extra 3 months though. LBP has more $ value but what you get out of the extra 3 months might let you break even lol

I tend to DL a lot of PS one games so if it works out that I save 50 over the course of the year DLing the PS one games I will get it.
I have Xbox live gold but really I do not get anything more from it then I get from PSN now. Demos? they are great, but 90% of the time I can tell from reviews, pics and how big of a fanboy I am for the company if I am going to buy it or not lol and for everything else there is Gamefly.
Id say for the price PS+ seems it might be worth it, tho you could stay with the free one and still play online.

this is what MS claims you get, so really why is what sony doing bad? its not a must get and is much more if you ask me. you get almost all of this free with PSN. and once voice chat is in game over PS+ will be better if you ask me. I also call BS on MS linking you with people on your lvl of playing >.>
Did you read what you get from PS+? It's already better than Live.
This PSN+ will be great, it offers a whole bunch of goodies that are really great in my opinion. With Xbox Live, you have to pay just to go online with a game and it doesn't offer anything else at all.. Well, you can play PSU or FFXI online for free but that's about it. Why does Microsoft force people to pay for a Live Gold account just to do online gaming or online anything else through the Xbox 360 system?
"Full game" trials (and the games themselves with it I suppose, but that's available for free members) is the only thing that sounds cool. If they do that for every game (or at least anything really notable) it's be sweet. Otherwise it doesn't really top Live in any way at all. Certainly a step in the right direction (features-wise, ignoring the pricing), but it still has a ways to go. But seriously, half this shit shouldn't be requiring a premium subscription when the main selling point about the PS3s online capabilities was that it was free. There's no excuse for the lack of cross game chat support and now they're only giving a limited version of it to premium customers.
I dunno, I think they just have to step it up a bit. The only way I see upgrading to + being truly worthwhile is if you buy tons of shit off the PSN in which case you'll probably end up saving in the long run with the discounts. We'll just have to wait and see how these "free" games pans out though, if they give out multiple (and actual good) games it's pretty sweet, but losing them when you stop paying is a little bit of a douche move.
Discounts aren't cool, access to content early/betas etc isn't cool, free games for the duration of your PS+ subscription... not cool?
Get Bill's cock out of your mouth.
This shit is like a +1 version of the awesome Sega Channel from back in the day.
Beta access (early access, it doesn't even say it's limited to premium users) and discounts (if you don't buy a ton of shit) aren't $50 a year cool. Free games could be cool, but for all we know it could consist of the shittiest shovelware that doesn't sell on PSN, we'll have to wait and see. I am always the pessimist.
PSN is fine as it is, could definitely use these improvements, but it doesn't seem like these improvements are worth an extra $50 a year to me.
And Bill's cock tastes great.
$50 dollars a year is not even 10 bucks a month.
Honestly, that's less than 1 fast food meal a month.
That's nothing. The free games alone are worth that even if they aren't very good ones.
Throw in discounts on top and that's already worth the money.
Well if people bought a PS3 they already know they like to waste money I guess.
How many 360s you buy again? lol
Lets not bring up wasting money when you do shit like that. Its just stupid.
Touché salesman.
$50 (less if you buy cards like was previously mentioned, although this could happen with PSN+ too) to play online is money well spent. Would it be better if it was free (without the service suffering because of it of course)? Hell yes. But that's not an option. With this you're not paying $50 for something most definitely worthwhile like with Live. As is, PSN is comparable to Live without having to drop money on it. This upgrade just doesn't seem like it justifies that pricing when you're not getting a vast upgrade in service. Of course, value of money is different for everybody, $50 in the long run isn't much at all, but for me it doesn't yet offer enough to consider it. All hinges on what kind of games they throw in for "free".
