Ima back Kiarax up a little cause I had a nice day today. We all know paying for Live sucks and it should be free. But to pay for playstation+ you have to get something out of it, and if Kiarax thinks the games he/she got for free suck, then he/she lost money. If the discounts arent used or the (exclusive) betas arent used thats more money lost.

I for one will be using all of that^ so i'll gladly fork over 50. I'll have a full year to decide if my investment paid off or not.

kiarax I know you are just trolling, but really what is so great about xbox live? PSN(free) gives about 80% of what xbox live gold gives.

The only thing at all that xbox has over psn now is cross game chat/party(thats why I said PSN+ will pass xbox live once they get it) Many people like myself buy a lot of PS1 titles(I have around 20) if this helps drop some of the other ones down I will buy even more games that I really love. The beta is a given, people with PS+ will get first dibs on some betas over none paying PSN members. If you like to test games it might be something you want to look into.

One thing I really like is that they do not force you in any way to pay. If one of the many perks(and there are a lot) fits you its something you might get. And if you say "fuck I hate this" you lost a games worth of funds and can still play online just as before.

Id ask you what you think(and answer it), but really your just aiming to get people mad and troll. I made my point and if you want to talk and have a decent reason, I would be more then willing to respond back to anything you have to say.


edit: it also stands to reason that more will be added to PS+ over time. Cross game chat will be one of the first perks in the coming year. What else they plan to do? no clue but SONY is not one to just milk the money. They are more then willing to keep people happy even if it means losing money in the short run. I really do not see anything big that MS has added to live in the years it has been out(after the 360)

I can tell you that from talking to him about these kinds of things over time that he isn't trolling/joking at all. Homie has an irrational dislike for the triple that he will never admit to but you can definitely tell its there when you talk to him. No bullshit.

But for real, PS+ already looks solid as I said before and cross-game chat will only make it look sweeter. I don't even have a damn PS3 and I like the look of what the service provides and that's even without a comparison to Xbox LIVE Gold, which frankly makes PS+ look even better.

PS+ is very simple, I said it in my last post; if it has something you like, you get it. If not You dont. Its not being forced on you at all. Thats one thing I really like about it. It will have hardly and effect on a person who does not buy it(there are a few things that seem to be pay now that where in the past free; this is a wait and see thing tho)

I've been contemplating getting a PSP recently, and depending on the catalog of free games you can play one one from PS+ or even discounts on other PS1 games, could be an awesome bonus to getting it.

You got me there. To clarify, I just mean Live Silver is absolutely fucking worthless, the upgrade to gold is a no brainer if you own the system. It sure as fuck should be free to play online, but it's not. Compared to PSN+ where there's little reason to upgrade. Why pay $50 for something when you're already getting everything you want for free? I'm not trying to compare the two systems when I say this, most people don't own both, so taking the other into account is rather irrelevant. But comparison are bound to be made anyway.

Definitely. Unless they bust out a ton of awesome free games I can say for certain I won't be touching this, but I'm not gonna be losing out on anything either even if I don't go for PSN+.

Party chat was a new feature with the newer dashboard and a pretty significant one at that. Private chat (1 to 1) was always there since the start, but being able to have a group of people is always nice. I certainly hope PSN+ picks up on the group shit, there's no excuse for them just to settle for 1 to 1 when the competition supports large groups of people across any and all games. Other than that there hasn't been too much worth noting, they added USB memory stick but I really can't think of much else.

I don't hate the PS3. I definitely prefer my 360 (and I'm sure have a slight bias towards it), but dislike I certainly do not. I wouldn't own a triple if I thought it was shitty. Free games could be cool, but for all we know it could consist of the shittiest shovelware that doesn't sell on PSN, we'll have to wait and see. I am always the pessimist.

The games you get in the first month have already been revealed. Wipeout HD for US users ($20), 2 PS Mini's and a PS1 game. Other regions get something different, I know that Europe is getting LittleBigPlanet for free and a few other things.

Pretty decent shit if you ask me, useless for me though as I already own nearly all of them.

Attitude like this is what is going to turn the next gen of consoles in to shit, all 3 will probably start charging for online because of peoples thinking like this and the success of XBL Gold. If someone told you 10 years ago, "Hey, in the future we're gonna charge $50 a year to play online, on top of still having to pay $60 for a new game. All for a glorified matchmaking server, the games will still be P2P." You'd think that was money well spent? C'man.

Also, you can't really pull the "most of that should be free" shit for PSN+ when XBL Gold comes with Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm and Netflix access. All of which can be done for free on other consoles.

It's going to support at least 4 people, if the official Playstation website leak is right. AND you'll be able to invite members who aren't PSN+ subscribers (Non-subscribers just can't initiate it) although the plans for this might change.

Well, looks like I'm being a pessimist for nothing then! Hopefully they keep up with good free games (although fuck LBP, give me Wipeout in EU too). Cross chat support having more than 2 people is damn good, there's hardly ever a time I use it on Live to talk to a single person but often with more than that. Although limiting to 4 is a little strange, I'm sure there's a reason for it. Not letting you keep the games when you stop subscribing is still kind of a jew move, but if they can keep up with big hitters then there's little reason to stop subscribing anyway I guess.

I actually don't disagree with the premise, I have GOLD for my Xbox too, because otherwise why bother having one.

The fact that I have to pay...anything at all...to play multiplayer, with my OWN bandwidth using my OWN hardware, is however retarded as fuck, it's a padlock on BASIC FUNCTIONALITY, or as I said, basically extortion, which we pay because we have to in order to actually use our hardware the way we want.

If LIVE actually used dedicated servers to host games like they alluded to at one point, I wouldn't have an issue with it, it'd be a worthwhile service but (with a small amount of exceptions) they don't, majority of games are peer-to-peer, and FPSs that do use dedicated servers are payed for/ran by the publish/developer.

As I said, I like the approach of PS+, if I feel like I get $50 of value of it, I can get it, if I don't, I don't lose access to basic functionality.

I haven't even heard of any of the games listed for the full game trials. The free games are looking pretty good though (minis aside). Although I imagine a fucking ton of the people they're trying to sell this too already own most of these games. Wonder if in future they'll give away new releases almost immediately, otherwise I can see that being a problem for a lot of people.
