Quick question re: component / composite cables

So, just got the iPhone 4 and now going to get some cables to hook it up to a TV when Netflix app comes out.

Quick question: is it possible to use component cables (3 video / 2 audio) as composite cables (1 video / 2 audio), by leaving out 2 of the video cables?

Composite cables and component cables are identical, the only difference is what you are using as a source/what receives it. So if your question is are you able to take a set of component cables, and use them in a composite setting, then yes.
