Yeah the "will NOT appease customers with free bumpers" got me. What the fuck. Denying there's a problem, really? Eventually it's going to be a straight "What problem?"
Steve Jobs is looking to become a technological Stalin, which is unfortunate considering they have pretty much the only smartphone I can buy right now.
Lol melodrama.for those zapping their calls into the afterlife every time they brush their phone the wrong way, it's not much consolation at all.
Check out engadget today.
Apple put up a 3 new job postings for "iPhone/iPad antenna engineers"
I wonder why...... Lol
Yeah, I didn't expect them to still be employed after this royal fuck up. They're not doing a very good job of sweeping this one under the rug. This is just more fuel for the fire.
If someone is unable to make a phone call with their iPhone 4 in the case of an emergency... Regardless or whether or not they replicated this issue in the scenario. Apple is fucked.
All I'm saying is that a lawyer would use that as ammo and its not gonna look pretty in that class action lawsuit that has been filed against Apple for this issue.
In Quebec when you sign a cell phone contract they tell you that they arn't responsible for 911 calls and that you shouldn't use a cell phone for emergency
Not simply left-handed people, but more like "People that use left hand". I'm right handed but my phone is in my left pocket. In fact, I almost never switch over to my right hand unless something requires my left hand. So no, this problem doesn't pertain only to "left-handed people" (unless of course you really meant to say people that use their left hand).
Any cell phone is on you all the time, in theory, and if you have an emergency, you ought to be able to use it for one, especially of the 911 persuasion. Seems silly to me to tell people not to use a communication device they sometimes spend hundreds to purchase, activate, and maintain a plan on for emergency calls. That's like buying a car and not driving on the highway because it's dangerous or something.
I can see it either way though, it just seems really odd not to use your primary communication device to communicate, for whatever reason.
As for the dealer telling you straight up not to use it for 911 calls, that seems like too much red tape and accounting for liability in my eyes.
You shouldn't use a cell phone to call 911 because the phone has to hit a tower, and you will most likely be connected to a regional 911 center which could be out of your area.
As opposed to using a land line, which, ya know, is a land line. It's fine to call from a cell phone, but if you have the option to, you should call from a land line.
I get the whole tower thing.
I should note I don't even have a house phone. Seems like a big waste of money and from what I can tell, in my area, a lot of people seem to agree. Hope they figure out that whole 911 thing soon then! lul
Who the fuck still has a landline other then Government offices and businesses, seriously.
Old people.
I see a lot of people saying it only affects lefties. Huh. Are you saying you never hold your phone with your off-hand?
I off-hand my Nexus One all the time.
lol @ the FF reference.
