The more and more I read, the more and more I wonder how big of a fucking ego can Jobs have. The e-mails he's sending are beyond absurd if they're in fact authentic. How can you have such a bad PR mentality? Is it too hard to say "We're currently looking into it", as opposed to telling people they need to conform to your product?

It's a class action suit, apple probably has 15 of them filed against them for 30 different reasons. I really doubt Jobs has the smallest inkling of worry about it.

They have MMS now, so it accomplished it's goal, I guess. Remember, the goal of class action lawsuits is to get a company to fix something, not for monetary gain.

People in the US (and other places now, but the US started the trend) sue for almost everything. A burgler can sue the person whose house they broke into in some states if they are injured during the burglery...

Upon investigation, we were stunned to find that the formula we use to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display is totally wrong. Our formula, in many instances, mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength. For example, we sometimes display 4 bars when we should be displaying as few as 2 bars. Users observing a drop of several bars when they grip their iPhone in a certain way are most likely in an area with very weak signal strength, but they don’t know it because we are erroneously displaying 4 or 5 bars. Their big drop in bars is because their high bars were never real in the first place.

To fix this, we are adopting AT&T’s recently recommended formula for calculating how many bars to display for a given signal strength. The real signal strength remains the same, but the iPhone’s bars will report it far more accurately, providing users a much better indication of the reception they will get in a given area. We are also making bars 1, 2 and 3 a bit taller so they will be easier to see.

This "solution" is only valid if people are to believe that the phone automatically kills connections when the software is reporting bad signal strength, which if they actually programmed it that way is beyond retarded.

All this change is going to do is hide bad signal strength behind extra bars, it's not going to do anything to change the issue with the antenna or the general AT&T complaints. I'm honestly kind of disappointed you fell for thinking this was going to solve the antenna issue Tyche, I expected better from you ):
