    broken graphic card?

Ok so, I was watching the USA game, both screens suddenly went back. Computer was still running though cause I was listening to the game still.

Reboot, took out the card and put it back in, nothing works.

I can see some of the start up messages show up on my monitor, but once it starts its just black.

    Is my graphic card RIP?

I suppose I should test the other PCI slot, but the problem with that is that its next to other stuff so it wont fit... idk.

Any other way to check if its the slot or if its the card? :/

    Thanks

edit: No apparent damage on the graphic card from what I can see, and LEDs still come on and stuff when it boots up

edit2: If I don't connect the graphic card to my power supply, it still started up with the fan and the LEDs, so I'm assuming its taking power from the mobo, so the slot isnt busted? Would I be correct in this assumption? So I guess the problem is the card?

Want an expect opinion before I go buying a new one And speaking of new cards, anyone have any suggestions?

edit: Disregard this, hdd with windows on it got disconnected lol.

Ok so, its running, and, I think the problem is now my monitor?

If I just plug in my tv (acting as a monitor) it works. If I plug in both, only the TV works as the extended monitor. Just plug in the monitor, nothing. Although, I did get an image once, but it didn't last long.

RIP my monitor I guess? I tried using both ports on my video card and it didn't seem to make a difference, so I guess it's just my monitor. Do monitors die like this? My monitor is this http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CCoQ8gIwAg# old boy, been using it forever and never really had a need to upgrade. Don't really have the space for a larger monitor in my dorm anyway, I think.

So, any suggestions for a new monitor? Would rather stay under $200 but I could go over I guess idk >_>

edit: Just connected my monitor after being off for like 5 min, got an image for like 5 seconds, then back to black.

Thanks everyone who helped on IRC, and whoever read on here. Pretty much convinced that my monitor is dead. Tried using different cables, and no go.

So, if anyone has any monitor suggestions, please post! Thanks again :D

Before I invest into a new monitor, if you really don't want to, try playing with the cable see if it's just slack. My monitor that's barely 1 year old have a slack socket but if I move it around it's fine I just need to check my cat so she doesn't go behind it and move the cable.
