T1's couldn't fit T2's in it because I wouldn't be able to make the box big enough. Powered by a T1500amp and 10farad rockford cap.

Driving a 2006 Mitsu EVO IX GSR. Fairly heavily modded and making ~325hp @ 20psi boost.
Some dick recently broke into my car by smashing my front driver's side window and stole a bunch of stuff and all my badging so it's currently in the shop

Box was tuned to 32hrtz, I sold the truck and bought the crown vic. I made out like a bandit though. The truck was completely dynomatted with a nice P600 Rockford 4-Channel amp and Kenwood head unit putting out over 180+Dbs with completely clear highs and mids. I will miss the basically being at a concert every time I am driving around, but my son is so much better.

Er yeah, 100db is an average volume for most live shows, 180+ would destroy your ears with those clean highs and mids! Time to crack out the sound level meter and take the average and weighting

Concerts tend to be a bit over 100db in my experience, but yeah... 180 will destroy your ears. In fact, long term exposure to any loud noises (like 90db+) deteriorates your hearing. Next time you're at a concert take a look at the dudes running the sound and lighting equipment, a lot of the time they'll have earplugs in while they work. Going deaf in that industry means goodbye career.

Yea, given your setup I would guess low 140's if it was done correctly. In my saturn I had 2 12" subs off a 1200 watt amp metering 140.8, in my truck I have 1 18 off a 4500 watt amp metering 147.0. Anything over 140 is generally pretty fucking loud, and every 3db you go up is twice as loud. Loudest I've ever sat in personally was 154.0 and he had 8 15" T1's off 2 Rockford 4k's.

Edit: Oh and general rule of thumb, if you've never had someone tap out of your car, you're under 150db (probably under 145db too). if you didn't blow out your windshield, you're under 160db. If you don't have to use an impact gun to bolt your doors shut, you're under 170db.

You've got that wrong. 120 is already causing damage, how much/bad depends on how long you're around it. 180 is getting to the point of instant cell-death/hearing loss.

Yeah, I was just requoting what the website said, since their column "Death of hearing tissue" is at 180 dB. I'm assuming that means what you said at 180 dB.

Haha I drive around pounding 145+ on an almost daily basis, but sub frequencies don't wreck havoc on your ears like higher frequencies do.

I'm loving your ride. I have an unusual soft spot for mazda3s, especially that body style.

I'm also in the search for a new vehicle. I have a disposable income of ~$400 a month.

Should I lease a new car, 160 a month for 2010 Mazda3, 169 a month for 2010 Toyota Corolla?
Or make buy a car with payments, 360 a month for 2010 Mazda3 or however much a month for 2004-2007 Mazda RX-8
