How many miles on the Blazer? Did you have any issues with it? I'm picking up a beater next month, similar year Blazer is on my list of potential vehicles.

It'd be aptly 'fair' condition overall, doubtful it's better, maybe the bottom tier of 'good'

Mileage: 139k miles - I think it's a ticking time bomb for some engine trouble, but perhaps not.
I picked it up Jan 09 with like 94k miles, reportedly almost all long-drive highway miles - some gov't vehicle, I dunno. I replaced the fuel pump at like 105k, so hopefully that's still good for awhile. I really dunno wtf about synthetic oils, but the vehicle's had AMSOIL (5W-30) in it about every 9-12 months the last 3 changes. It was largely parked and rarely driven June '10 to Nov '12. It's had both periods of numerous, long road trips as well as periods of sitting undriven for 5-6 weeks. The above pic is from one such drive. (turned off US hw 50 into some random path, near the continental divide)

Interior: Absolutely great still in the back seat and the bed. And pretty brutal up front. I find the driver seat to be large amounts of uncomfortable, but that's a fixable thing for some. No lights for the mirrors under the visor. Replaced the stock cd player and stereo after about 1yr cause not working. You get some cool Kenwood player with a USB connection for your media player / ipod stuffs that comes out nicely under the front dash panel. (have all the manuals and whatnot, can easily reference exact model. I think a DD size player would be better for this car, but others may like it) Either way, no non-working stock nonsense. Speakers pretty good still too.

Control Module: Okay so I don't know how to best articulate this, admittedly incompetent about car mech/technical issues. Sometimes, certain dashlights will come on as you've been driving it a lot. If it's idle awhile, it'll show nothing. If it's being driven a lot, up to 3 different sets of lights stay on for the remainder of that drive. People hate dashlights, especially when one is check engine, but i've had them all specifically looked at (airbags, brakes, etc good too).. Aaand they've concluded the 'control module' is bad and needs to be replaced -- maybe $1k repair. I passed on it at the time. You can knock on the thing and it'll stop for awhile too. My super unprofessional guess is someone savvy could pop that thing off, open it, re-solder it up a little, and fix't it.

engine might blow up tomorrow, i dunno.. but it's always worked well for me on all my drives - never stranded roadside or anything.

    edit: tires are good too

Will he keep up with a fully prep'd AutoX BRZ (assuming equal driver skill level), not a chance in hell. But he sure as hell keeps up with the vehicles that run on the street up here, then he can slam it while it's parked lol.

Kind of like a Jack of All Trades Set Up. (Master of none as you/your buddy pointed out in regards to extremely competitive AutoX/Track Use)

Oh, absolutely planning on making those few mods in the next year (probably open up next summer with it).
Looking at a new Intake, FMIC, UICP, LICP, Catback (maybe turboback as well), Tailpipe/Exhaust.
All that plus a Stage 2 Tune should put me well above a stock Evo for around $3000-$4000

Don't really want to do anything visual to the car, just want to leave it as a sleeper, less attention that way

I can see that. The Front Mount will give you away though lol. Most of that is easily installed as well. Do you plan on installing everything yourself?

I saved a metric ton doing all of my installation out of my friends garage. He has a lift so that helps quite a bit.

    Lift FTW!

Man, I wish I had easy access to a real lift, but yeah, I prefer to do all my own work.
Much cheaper, and gives me a fun little thing to keep busy with.

Take a few minutes to read this.

From what I've read, Quixon's friend's choice of bags is perfect for his use of the car. He can lay it out for car shows, ride comfortably as a daily driver, and can still have fun on the track when he wants to. He's willing to spend more money for an adjustable suspension precisely because it is adjustable and will do everything he wants it to do. Sure a good set of coilovers would help his track times, but who the fuck cares if he's just going out there to have fun?

I've been giving this one serious consideration. It's nigh impossible to find a decent looking, reasonably priced sedan with a stick these days...the CC makes the short list. How do you like it so far? Bonus points if you got it with the manual, but I'd like to hear your thoughts either way.

Oh man, I love CX-5s. Best looking SUV out there next to the previous generation X5s. They really made that grille go well with the car (unlike on the new 3s and 6s).

Good luck keeping that sucker clean, though.

Not even going to try. City has the worst roads in the country and mix in with some crazy weather...not worth agonizing in keeping it in mint shape lol.

Still looking around for a decent place to tint windows and underbody protection. Ordered 3D MAXpider floor liners for the winter, should be here in a couple days.
