im wondering if anyone will actually want to be seen driving a cybertruck apart from a few sociopaths. like it would be a huge step for most people to go from an inconspicuous normal everyday car to a huge shiny metal monstrosity no matter how good it is. lot of preorders but idk how many will pull the trigger. buy the rumor sell the news on it i am guessing.

Only 26mpg combined, so unless you can stick to that 35 mile range, that is probably closer to 30 in a real world environment, probably not the most economical choice.

PHEV isn't too bad compared to pure ICE but keep in mind what battery distance is and that you're now lugging that fucking battery all over which is decreasing mpg when battery isn't doing anything. GF got a PHEV Ford from Carvana we played around with but returned it because 1) smelled like smoke and was horrible 2) PHEV distance was like 15miles on battery and just wasn't feasible. Pure ICE or pure EV or even hybrid over PHEV imo

PHEV is good for tax rebate and/or your commute is able to be done with battery only and then you have ICE as fallback or for trips.

Yeah I wasn't interested in the PHEV until this year when they released this extended range version, boosting from 19 to 35 miles of EV range. With the $7500 tax rebate and the fact that I already have level 2 charging at home, it's a no-brainer (if I actually want to spend 65k+ on a vehicle)

It doesn't look like there will be a pure electric for another 2+ years.
