Des is pretty awesome, honestly. Had a great manaburn after that party. I had no issues with him, it was more the leader and 2 others, such as the SH+AF DRG that came /WHM to birds.

Quick ninja edit - Des also ended up not pulling. The PLD and MNK interchanged between chi blast and provoke/flash.

Dunno why he didn't just go to chigoe burn or the solo camps at that level, prolly more xp lol

arty leader, the PLD, asks our DRG or MNK to pull. DRG shows up to camp /whm. MNK doesn't have birdbanes. Our BLM is /NIN and pulling. WTF?

MNK did good damage in exp for years before Birdbanes came out. Expecting someone to necessarily have a special rare/ex weapon from a NM that was, at least for a while, constantly camped is a bit much. His visible gear looks to be pretty decent. I'm not sure what weapon he's using, but it looks to maybe be Cross-Counters, which are still very respectable and will help him mitigate damage and add more when he inevitably pulls hate.

In all seriousness, females with melee jobs are super rare, what does it say about the gender in general, idk.

Isladar is the exception that proves the rule, why play mages when you are made of pure Win and Awesome (All hail the Isla-reich). Seriously though, all the female players I know started out with mage jobs, and only leveled melee jobs after they had done all the mage jobs.

I think it's less indicative of a particular mindset with regard to gender (though I'm sure that plays into it), and moreso the circumstances under which women end up playing the game. I knew a number of husband and wife / longtime boyfriend-girlfriend teams, and it was usually the man who'd initiated playing the game. If your man is playing Mr. Beefy DD/Tank, it seems pretty logical to play something that compliments that choice. If the guy was smart he probably influenced the decision as well.

Not everyone was as smart as me, to make every other jerk level jobs to keep my happy ass alive, fully buffed, triple-marched, and invincible.


But holy shit girlfriend WHMs fucking suck.
