Is this in the same grouping as what you're talking about of excessive dosage? 3mg seems pretty measly, but I have no idea. Not opposed to trying valerian root either, was just curious. I definitely can't do the OTC sleep-aids like Unisom anymore, the grogginess feels like it never wears off for the day.
Eh it really aint that strong imo. It pretty much just helps you sleep. However, I took it one time and had an emergency 3 hours later. I went to bed around 3-4 AM and had to get up at 7ish and drive. The sun was shining in my eyes and it hurt to look at the road. My eyes were watering and I had to blink constantly, was kinda dangerous. As long as you plan to get at least 8hrs, you'll be fine.
I took Ambien CR for about a month. I'd wake up 8 hours later feeling right chipper. I think if the house burned to the ground I wouldn't have noticed.
Yeah thats exactly what I'm talking about. Try .3mg if you can find it, thats closer to the dosage I've heard given to fix circadian rhythms and such with clinical studies. 3mg may seem like nothing but shits only a signaling molecule that causes your body to start other biochemical processes, your body doesn't need a lot of it, and in fact its produced naturally by a gland the size of a pea lol.
I definitely would try valerian root before any prescription stuff and see how it goes.
Been taking Ambien for a few months now. Never experienced any of the side effects or morning grogginess.
It doesn't even work for me sometimes really. Helps me stay asleep but sometimes I still take 2-3 hours to fall asleep even when taking a 10mg dose.
You can expect shitty medical care until you find a doctor who doesn't do stupid shit like prescribe hypnotics to patients instead of figuring out why they're not sleeping well.
I have nothing helpful to add to the OP, but I think that we need a thread exclusively for funny med stories... I'm laughing out loud at work XD
Worked for sleep but I ran out one time and realized I got very, very depressed on it. Plus had joint and jaw pain all the time. Took 2 years to figure out what caused it.
Fucking necro from the bowels of hades.
there's nothing quite like messing with your brain with sleeping pills-
:3
I was on Lunesta before Ambien and I always prefer Ambien. Lunesta made my mouth taste like absolute shit for a full 24 hours after taking it, just the worst fucking taste in the world - and worse it changed the taste of anything with a mild flavor. Water tasted like I was giving tubgirl a rimjob, and almost anything else that didn't have a really strong flavor. I just chewed gum all day, or just didn't take it at all until I was off the medication that Ambien would interfere with.
This thread actually explains alot... I work with a guy who takes Ambien, and sometimes he sorta goes into this fugue state, where he stares at the wall for a while and rocks back and forth like a zombie. I saw him drool on himself once too. Shit would be funny if it didn't mean I had to work twice as hard to make up for his piece-of-shitedness... some necros have value I guess. Now I know why he's as large of a drain on society as he is, versus before when he was slightly less so.
I was on 3mgs of Lunesta for 2 years taking it every night, which has led to the possibility of liver issues. My sleeping is fucked massively tho, if I don't take anything I will literally stay up for days shit sucks.
it's too bad the patent for Lunesta doesn't expire until 2012, that shit is massively expensive if you don't have insurance (something like 200+ for a 1 month supply).
