If the Sheep is a WAR (it has double attack), perhaps it also has Fencer, explaining the critical hit rate?

Going to bring this up here too since were on the subject of BST.

    /DNC vs /NIN

Mainly from a BST party XP perspective since for the most part we sub NIN for dual axes. I know we pull lots of hate and all, but I think we'll survive. Solo I would think this would be pretty good too.

/40DNC: Evasion+10, DW 15%, Resist Slow, Subtle Blow 5%, ACC+10, Sambas, Waltzs, Steps, Flourishes, Jigs.
/40NIN: Stelth, DW 15%, Resist Bind, Subtle Blow 10%, Utsu, Tonko, Monomi, and a bunch of other spells no one uses.

I cant see a reason why people wont start using /DNC instead. Am I missing anything?

It'll probably depend on what you're fighting. I definitely prefer /NIN for things like Arcana in Ro'Maeve because they have AoE physical attacks/stuns that are absorbed by Utsusemi. And now that we have the Rabbit Jug, if you do happen to take some damage along the way, he can just cure you back to full with Wild Carrot.

That way 100% of your TP is going into damage rather than worrying about keeping Drain up or Curing yourself via /DNC.

I'd only go /DNC if I knew I was fighting stuff with minimal to no AOEs - otherwise /NIN or /WHM depending on where/what/how lazy I am wanting to teleport myself (I also go /NIN much more on my elf BST character than on my main as he's got the MP pool of a gnat in comparison).

Personally I'd also like the security of some form of defensive buffs if I'm going after landing charm on things that are liable to try to turn around and rip my face off as well - no way I'd be going out charming things like the past-tiggers without some defensive abilities (and as much of a headstart as I can get) cos they fooking well hurt.

Someone in another thread mentioned the Rabbit pet may have been broken, as it was summoned 1 level higher than its owner.

the report was: "Went to Sea, was aggroed a T Manta and got less than the normal amount of exp with my Rabbit. Killed an Even Match Goldfish and only recieved (90? something) Exp instead of 100, which would mean my pet was 1 level higher than me."

Could be fixed now, or he could be insane =O!

Also, you have no idea how happy i am to hear these new jug pets are awesome, i just synthed myself some HQ Funguars the other day of which i cannot wait to use.

Also about the Ladybug, it makes sense, Ladybugs are THF mobs and they're likely to have all THF Job Traits, so it probably includes TH2, its not like its some huge advantage, just a nice farming partner =O

I had the sheep out on my mule (gimp, unmerited and only just into level 76 with no AF2 hands) the other day doing magian trials the cheaparse way (ie trying not to use bullets) for my main. I was impressed, especially since it appeared not to have the accuracy of a typical jug pet (somewhat resembling that of a cabbage - like I say, this was on my mule who doesn't have any pet enhancing gear at all) and the 1 charge of Lamb Chop meant you had something decent to spam in terms of Sic/Ready (stupid name for a /ja that). On bats in Upper Delks it was doing about 400-650 damage on Lamb Chop, and I can't pretend I was paying much attention to that screen at all to be honest.

They seem to have a longer duration on them than traditional jugs as well - I'm sure sheep was out for over an hour at least waiting for weather. Didn't stick around to see just how long it lasted before depop.

Someone on another forum was reporting more gil dropping from beastmen mobs using the ladybug as well - gilfinder?

There's a really easy way to test one of the THF's traits - Gilfinder.

Make sure Super Kupower Treasure Hound isn't active. If it is, do not use Signet(the kupower only works with signet, easy to test since gilfinder is one of the traits you get from the super kupower).

Anyway, test to see if the Ladybug gives Gilfinder.

Kill a gigas without and with.

    Compare gil drops.

If the ladybug has gilfinder, it's very likely it also has treasure hunter too.

You're right! Lets ignore any possibilities until we have 2000+ Sample sizes!

Since you know, TH is so reliable and easy to test and not completely random at all causing most if not all sample sizes in the last 8 years to be inconclusive and thus the mystery behind how TH works being pretty much still a mystery save a few things we can deduce by common sense.

    You're a brilliant man.

Tell ya what, you got test this Ladybugs Treasure hunter by dedicating the next 3mil in jug pets and 3 years of your life to test what is the most random job ability the game has.

    Now, Sarcasm aside:

Not saying this doesn't require further testing, but if years on a THF forum have taught me anything its that its very unlikely to ever prove anything ⌐ ⌐; Don't let this stop you from trying, data is always nice, large or small, The man just started a pretense to some larger testing, to something we may never have noticed.

Then again, I guess Gilfinder testing would probably be conclusive.

    15/20 isn't a possibility, it's a coincidence.

This was just merely supporting evidence for my argument that a THF mob should theoretically have Treasure Hunter I and II. Perhaps you can debunk my theory as a whole, instead of just one small piece of supporting evidence.

I'm interested to see if the Gilfinder test goes though. I think if that works that would be substantial evidence to test for TH 1 & 2.

It's the first THF pet, isn't it? That supports it as well, sort of. I'd be happy to debunk it (or not), but I don't have BST unlocked.

Small sample size I admit. I went up BST/BLM and didn't have too much time to stay, so this may need further testing. Regardless though, things are looking up for both Gilfinder and Treasure Hunter.

That's fairly impressive, even at that sample size. I'd say start recording your drops when you farm, I think kparse has that as a function. If we can get a confirmation on TH2, that'd be an amazing discovery.
