Dusk Feet+1 for TP.
subbing /dnc seems to be insanely good now because of dual wield.
Something to consider when it comes to axes. Glyph Axe.

BSTs in mass got a huge boost with this update. 5 levels obviously help any job, but the boost this gave to BST is insane.
We tried Hydra once maybe like 2 years ago and we couldn't even break its shield. We got it to like 97% at its lowest after a full 10 to 15 minutes of just beating on it. Today we went back and took it out in under 10 minutes with only pet jobs. I think I used two jugs the entire fight.

We did a T1 Einherjar for the first time after the update as well. In the past we had tried pet burn Einherjars even with 36 people and had difficulty clearing so we gave up on pet burns and went to conventional setups. Today we had 21 total in zone. We had 2 RDM, a WHM, a PLD, and the rest were either SMN or BST. We cleared the zone in ease. We had no Sleeps other than the RDMs and would pull 5-6 monsters at a time and we were fine. 2 BST pets could duo the Einherjar monsters.

And we did Verthandi yesterday. In the past on our pet burns we would usually have around 18 and Verthandi would run all over the place because of low hate on pets. We did it with 10 yesterday and it would barely move. It would be at 10-20% before it first flashed its HP bar.
and they all use to make fun of me for being a bst.
Emergency maintenance: Beastmaster not working as intended.![]()
Too little, too late. I love my BST, and actualy liked lvln the whole way solo, before toau came, but all the BS up to this point just killed my joy for it. I guess ill try getting to 80, and see how it goes.. but whats the point? People still wont want anything to do with BST, unless youre in a pet ls, but now soloing is a bit better. Shrug
Dang this makes me miss my bst... But it's one of those jobs ive put away for good due to lack of time to level and eventually gear up properly...
I guess this is the second coming of the BST era?
All the new pets cap at or above 80, yes? Is there any point right now, with 0 Beast Affinity merits, to start working on them?
Heard from friends that Carrie and Lars "seem" to cap at 75, but we havent done any official testing as of yet. So many variables.... ; ;
I have a blooming mountain of carrie and larses I'm trying to use up now lol.
Blurg.
Ok, I caved, going to lvl BST now. What is the best DD pet now? Ive seen people use the rabbit and sheep, but not the others.
Coeurl, Rabbit, Funguar, Lyco, and Sheep. All see like good DD to me. Coeurl seems the lesser of the group to me, Rabbit has a good TP move, Fung hits hard, so does Sheep, and Lyco has double attack, even though it's a MNK.
So enlighten me, which pets are good for which situation? Fung for pure best DD (or is this Rabbit?), Sheep for tank and good DD?
Foot Kick can be the beastiest thing ever, hitting for up to 1200 DMG on DC~EP mobs, so hes the best for farming, that on top of Wild-carrot to cure himself and you.
Sheep can use Rage, boosting its DoT a good amount, so as long as its not getting hate he makes one of the better Party pets for that reason. Also Lamb Chop onry, its the highest DMG potential for him.
Coeurl is great for fighting things that cast spells, maybe it was just me but Blaster seemed to be nerfed down in potency =(.
Funguar's Breath damage can do about 800 DMG, but not as impressive thanks to Foot Kick/etc from other pets equaling the high damage without the use of 3 Charges... Still, Hes fun =\
Dipper yuly, the Ladybug, Has THF job traits, amazing for farming things you care about drop rate on, also Triple Attack / Evasion Boost helps nicely too for the above mentioned farming. He has low HP though, and his TP moves aren't the best but Spiral Spin can land for decent damage and the acc down is a bonus.
Thats my experience with them =o
A party of 6 BST all using Rabbit can be pretty awesome too. Its a free Curaga III which you could get off pretty consistently every 30 seconds or so (given there are six of them on a 2-3 minute recast)
On another note, we got King Vinegarroon down to like 48% with just 7 BST and about 4 SMN as damage. The day before we got it to 85% with just 5 BST, so it looks like only 2 to 3 BST are needed to break his regen and the rest would just be the DD to bring him down.
When he used Draw In we'd all just run away again. If it wasn't for his damn Draw In we could kill it easily with just 8-10 BST it looks like. Someday we may try again but we'd need at least ~12 BST and maybe a WHM or RDM in each party to heal as we quickly ran out of MP spamming Cures, Stoneskin, and Regen.
And just a little food for thought. The accuracy of the new jug pets on most NM/HNM seems high, about 80-90%? Lets just say its 80% for arguments sake even though its probably higher. The Sheep on average hits most NM/HNM for 70-90, but lets say 70 and take the low end for arguments sake (They average 70-90 on Hydra as an example). If you think about, at 80% accuracy and 70 damage a hit, an ally of BSTs is capable of tossing out roughly 1000 damage per attack round which is like what, 2 seconds for Sheep?
Since the update we've done under ten minute Hydras and are gonna test this out on Kirin this weekend. If we even manage 500 damage an attack round (which we will easily, it will be much closer to 1000 or maybe 1500 an attack round because pre-update Carrie/Funguar/Saber hit Kirin for an average of 50) this would be a 2 minute Kirin which would only speed up after he uses Astral Flow and the BSTs jump in and melee themselves. Will be sure that someone records it.
Ladybug's accuracy on hnm's sucks balls, just fyi.
