Started FFXI at NA release (beta even) at 27 and am 34 now.

Tried almost every mmorpg but never went longer than 1-3 months on any of them except for WoW for 8 months, EQ1 for 10 months, and FFXI for 6+ years.

This is really quite a depressing thread that so much time has passed and I spent a large chunk of it on 11 lol, sad to see it go. I havn't played 11 much for the past 2 years but I really wish I could.

On the bright side, at least a bigger chunk of the player base will be mature then when we all started in 11

This thread is making me feel better. I was honestly starting to wonder if I was too old for this shit since I was so young back then.

Same for me, kinda.

Started with Anarchy Online and tried WoW for a short time in between.
Also tried Guild Wars, Rappelz and Lineage II but nothing can compete with XI ^^
