Good to know Kiara, I have that client install sitting on my USB drive... may have to check it out over the next few days. Traveling a bit so it is just my laptop and handhelds.

Martial is going under the name Seven Souls online in NA, while EU keeps the Martial Heroes name.

I forgot about having a 3 kindgdom's key so I'm downloading it too. Going to halberd and go lu bu on some people.
Still trying to figure out what I want to do. Thinking either:
Charmer/War Fan
Glaive/Bow
or maybe even
Bow/Ring Blade
Although LOTRO isn't going free until the Fall, there's an ongoing beta for the free version.
I applied for the beta recently with no LOTRO account or history/experience (although I have a ton of FFXI experience), and got the acceptance email after about 2 weeks. Might be worth a try.
Sounds like FFXI was your only MMO, most MMOs are like that. DFO I think has native gamepad support ( I never tried that one), Dragonica does iirc, and there's some others in that kind of action fighting/shooting MMO genre like Valkyrie Sky and Wonder King that probably do. Of course you can always use that one program that let's you set a gamepad on anything that I know is somewhere on my computer... . but most aren't designed in a way that it will be efficient.
Anyway I'll just say what I always say on these threads, your standard f2p RPG-type MMO is pretty much always the same, just with varying degrees of cash shop necessity, cheating, graphic quality, rendered dimensions, server stability, glitchy-ness and style. From the cutesy-est Ether Saga to the horror-esque Requiem. If you can deal with the Engrishy translations and constant grind there's not much difference between most of them except possibly D&D which I've heard good things about. I haven't played any since Allods beta but I'll agree with what was said about Atlantica and add; it is a party turn-based game, you start with 1 playable character and eventually have 9 with the level cap being something not attainable in less than 6 months probably. You use wsad to move but it's not during combat so it shouldn't be an annoyance. Rich and cash shops twinks are wide-spread in PVP but because of the bracket system being directly affected by your personal record the PVP is very accessible even to the unexperienced. Due to your circumstances it shouldn't matter that the top tier is dominated by level capped cash shop users because you won't make it there. As far as leveling there is not really any gap between quests - grindy as hell quests, but because the combat is fun as it's not as noticeable as in other games. For PVE you can be pretty experimental with builds but unless they changed it which I doubt, your new team members always start at level 1 so you do want to try and plan somewhat ahead to not waste too much time or exp scrolls on members you don't end up using. You get teaser cash shop items every so many levels so you will make it quite a while without having to deal with not being able to see enemy HP bars etc. Definitely worth your time to give it a try imo, it's different and engaging enough at the start to take up a good chunk of time in between "real" MMOs.
Requiem also had a lot of potential if they fixed the server stability.
If you hated the controls on Fantasy Earth Zero you will hatehatehate Last Chaos and Shin Megami Tensei unless they got a control overhaul.

Gonna give this a shot. Looks like beta just started today or yesterday. Can get keys from a bunch of places from the looks of things. I got one from here:

I'm playing that right now, recorded a video with fraps but it's too damn big even compressed.

I use Virtual Dub to compress videos. Use Xvid compression and fiddle with whatever quality you want and it comes out pretty small.
I thought about trying this out as well. Looks interesting enough.
Got bored of Martial Empires pretty fast, maybe this will hold my attention longer then a day? I doubt it, lol.
The launcher is fucking terrible for this game, God damn. It won't even fully load the splash page and pressing the login button does absolutely nothing. Website is loading insanely slow for me too, so I'm guessing that's the issue. Maybe I'll actually be able to try and play at some point in the future.
Edit: Well, managed to finally get it started but when I try to start game after making character it just says "Game Server Don't Connected" and closes out of the game. Rad as hell.
This is what Dungeon fighter Online would be if it was 3d, lol.
So I heard some NPC power had big tatas. I require screenshots.
