You make your own character, no playing as normal generals. There's tons of weapon types (movelists) in the foreign version. All but 3 of them are basically straight clones of normal generals. The 3 new ones in Online are Cymbals, Whip and Bo Staff. No Lu Bu in the foreign version yet though, so his moveset definitely won't be included.

Honestly though, it's about time we got a MMO Dynasty Warriors. I have no clue which weapon set I'd use if I got in, but yeah.. Aeria's done a decent job with the games I've played from them.

SUN (Soul of the Ultimate Nation) just started via Atlus. I know that the game itself is hardly new (looks like it is an ijji.com game?), but I never played it so i am checking it out. Install was a bit more hoop-jumping than I like, but managed to get it installed on laptop and runs well enough. I will give it a whirl tonight most likely.

Ranger pretty much owns the Abyss but i'm not sure if Infinite has fixed some game mechanics bugs since i last played there. Some important skills for ranger were not working and the skill damage formula was not accurate. Also it's a retail server, which means grind grind grind.

Gamez Aion is a high rate PVP server with free flight from level 1. This of course is good for saving time traveling but it also makes rifting not as fun since everyone if flying.

Love it, hate it or meeky accept it, the terms "freemium" and "free-to-play" come with a lot of baggage these days, sometimes to the point of overshadowing the game itself. When Age of Empires fans heard that Microsoft was going to be releasing an online version of the hit RTS series, some of the fans' enthusiasm was tempered by the word that it would adopt the popular freemium business model.

Microsoft Game Studio's Dave Luehmann was on hand at Gamescom to assure players that the company isn't out to nickle-and-dime fans to skip parts of the game they don't like. Joystiq reports that they won't be adopting the same strategy as other F2P models. "I don't like to pay for things I don't like to do, that seems kind of backwards," Luehmann said. "So how about we produce things that people actually want?"

Instead of purchasing a lot of little items, the studio will simply put up large chunks of content as one-time purchases. These might include a new civilization or an area containing a plethora of quests. Microsoft is still feeling out a fair price point for the additional content, but it pointed to the fact that Age of Empires Online will ship with more than 25 hours of completely free entertainment to enjoy.

Good call for them to do it this way.

Really? Left this on over night and it's only 80% going 20KB/s.

It's pretty fun until you get to level 23 and have to level in the same zone where 40's constantly gank you. Unless they fixed that, i haven't played in a while.

Isn't Allods also extrmely grindy? I remember quitting before Lv4 because of that. Lol

To be honest, I picked up Atlantica Online again, this shit is just addictive, until Lv95 where the grind really kicks in.
