They just finally moved your gnex to 4.0.4 with the rest of the ICS world. Yep, Verizon likes dicking around with the "fast updates" of the nexus line.

Any suggestions on my situation? AT&T plan ends this month, going to switch to verizon either when it ends or whenever the right phone comes out. Are the android phones on the market/coming out in the next 2 months worth it or should I hold on to my iphone4 a bit longer?

For verizon; its only the Samsung galaxy s3 ( when it comes out), the galaxy nexus, razor maxx. There is some other that people seem to think will be released soon but I don't know anything about it.

I'll check out the s3 when its out, otherwise I'll hold off then. Sister has the nexus and I'm not a fan of the maxx. I'm willing to wait for the iphone if nothing appeals to me until then, but I'd rather get off it.

also Verizon Sgs3($599 off contract 16GB) I might go for the 649 at 32GB and add in my 32GB SD card. Tons of space then. I do need to wait for it to drop on amazon tho, as I have 400 in gift cards lol

The laptop dock is worth every penny tho... Holy cow do I love it lol. I dont feel the need to upgrade it at all.

Iv made up my mind on how I am going to upgrade my products in my house. a 3 year cycle

Year 1: Cell phone

Year 2: table

Year 3: Home PC

each year im giving myself a $800~1k budget

Any left over funds will just go back into the bank account that I use for my electronics. lol or I may spend it on something else like sound system for my room. Only time I see myself using the full budget is for upgrading a PC. Hell my phone is only going to be like 250 this year! so I still have 750 to store for next year! lol spend 1.7k on a tablet next year maybe?

I build my PCs so 1k every 3 years should keep my PC up to date(not top of the line but still rocking lol)

If apple stops the SGS3 from coming to the states I really think that I will support an all iOS bricking virus.

this is just a panic attack that samsung might have finally surpassed apple with their new phone. Not just wholesale to the world(via 15 phones)

Or, could just be Apple is trying to protect its patents, which if it doesn't they could lose for good.

And believe me, I seriously doubt Apple is "scared" of being surpassed by the SIII. If anything, the letdown from many people about the SIII actually let the door wide open for Apple's next phone to jump way ahead. When one of the largest advertised features of the SIII is something Apple has been doing for 8 months (Siri and S-Voice), I hardly call that surpassing.

You really think apple is trying to protect its patents? REALLY? 90% of their patents including siri should be owned by others. It was not their idea. not by a long shot. all iOS devices should be off the market right now due to the drop down menu they did not implement till iOS5 and android has had for nearly 4 years now.

Yet not...so yes, they are trying to defend. Trust me when I say the US patent system is screwed up, but it is the way it is so companies (on both sides) have to aggressively defend them to keep them.

Again though, it's about protecting things. It's no different than the famous story long time ago about Disney making a daycare take down images of Disney characters. People thought Disney was being a bunch of dicks, but the reality is if they didn't, and knowingly allowed somebody to use the images, they could have lost the rights to control them. Basically, be upset at shitty patent law, not the companies involved. And yes, Samsung is just as guilty as Apple on all this patent bullshit.

Apple sold 37 million iPhones in Q4 alone, and we all know that iPhone 5 will cause just as much presales and hype as all the other ones. Shaking...yeah, from the strain of carrying that $10,000,000,000 profit to the bank last quarter.

Hint...Sammy will sell, Apple will sell. Neither is scared of the other companies new phone. At most one will only make a small dent in the other. Neither is going "OMG we are in trouble!!" If you seriously think either is gonna crush the other over one new phone, you are very sadly mistaken.
