OH SNAP GOOGLE GLASSES
Edit: that was amazing.
That was so fucking awesome. My god. O_O
If they're giving everyone in the audience a pair of these glasses I'm gonna lose it... I want one![]()
DatGlass
I want one and a Nexus Tablet
1500 dollars for developer beta version... lol
damn... these giveaways.
I know... Makes up for the ticket price. Might have to go to the next one. lol ;__________;
I had to pause it for some work after the sky dive/bike/rappelling. its 1500 for the glasses? I am starting my sky dive certification next week. this be sorta cool if it was not anything higher then say 500. 1500 thats a little on the high side! holy crap lol then you have the monthly data that goes along side it. (might just be another tether device for my 4g phone lol)
its 1500 for the dev explorer version, of course the shit is not gonna cost that much when it comes out.... and damn these giveaways, im going next year damnit
lets do it! BG google I/O? count me in!
if Im reading it right its sorta cheapish too. 900 for anyone and 300 if your a student?
how much was admission?
I missed the google glass part, what did they show I guess besides the beta/dev versions?
price to get in I think is at the lower section of this page
https://developers.google.com/events/io/register
900 normal and students for learning are 300. If thats right it be damn something I could do. hotel room + flight + 300(student) looking at under 1500 for everything.
I do love the part where he just jumps onto the stage, says "sorry time sensitive"
as for the google glasses I can not find the real deal but they also posted a video of their practices.
They sky dived onto the roof to biking(flips) down the roof, to rappelling down the side of the building to biking inside the area onto the stage lol
video of the pre testing of sky dives.
That will be a stunt that makes anyone want a pair LOL that is by far one of the best PR stunts I have ever seen to promote a item that is not even out for what looks to be a year or 2.
I found the video of the skydive/bike/etc

I agree. That was very much jawdropping. That will be a must buy for me if they can even get it down to like $599.
Pretty cool, definitely a risky way to promote something. The original glass video where he walks around the city and plays the ukulele at the end I thought was fantastic as is.
Im just starting to get into sports ~_~ I have plans this year to hit a few big things so this sorta thing is a big ass hype to me lol
next week sky-diving stage 1 of certification and a few more every 60-90 days
I want to go hiking(ya not really extreme)
scuba diving sounds cool just a little pricey lol(dont think this would work in water tho)
as for risk ya he did come on stage and say "there is about 500 ways this could go terribly wrong"
Diving is outrageously expensive. I haven't dived all that much since getting cert'd in my teens. I have a friend who vacations a lot though and dives everywhere he goes, no idea how he affords it.
its 2k worth of jumps to get it around here(1500 if I pay upfront)
and they have hop and pops for $18
25 for up to 13000 feet.
also he owns his own gear I bet. that is what gets you it seems 45 per jump or 95 for a day rental. If you pack your own, you are looking at 5 jumps for under $100(and a higher dive thrown in the mix)
