Both are amazing phones, but I'd personally go with the One X because of Beats and Incoming Jelly Bean soon

I hate the sound of beats. I like having more control over my levels so I still find myself using Power Amp(even with Beats ported to my last 3 phones.

Think the real answer is go look yourself you cant really go wrong with one or the other, they both rock.

There were some small things pushing me to the Galaxy, but found out Costco has the One X for $90 off. $110 with contract much easier hit than $200 with it. Don't know if the few things I prefer about the Galaxy are worth it, but will give them both a go when I go in today.

    Thanks for the advice.

The S3 comes with a Wolfson DAC, which is better than the stuff in the One X afaik. Also the equalizer in the S3 can mimic the software setup of Beats and the S3 will get Voodoo Sound at some point in the future (or already has?) So for music, you're better off with a S3.

I love my s3, just a little unhappy with speaker location compared to my iphone. Being on the back seems silly, and I wish it was louder.

oh, and the back button is too easy to press. I palm it once in a while when watching WatchESPN.

If anyone buys a phone because of beats, they should be shot.

All it really does is pump up the base and that is great for MP3's do not get me wrong. But I use FLAC and thus base does not help as much.

If I had more MP3s I might feel differently.

I say it for two reasons

    1. It's a shitty algorithm that can be emulated with just about any EQ or DSP from the play store or CM9.

    2. You can flash it on any phone regardless of brand.

The international version does, but the US version of the S3 uses qualcomm's WCD9310.

True that both are amazing phones, but I did not like the fact you could not remove the battery on the One X nor put in an ext-sd card. Jellybean shouldn't be much of a decision maker because there are already JB roms out there. I am currently running a CM10 Jellybean preview release on my AT&T S3 and it is nothing short of awesome.

Ended up getting a 32gb class 10 sd card for my S3 for $30 and I got a second battery with a battery charger dock. Really love the fact that I'm able to charge a second battery and have it ready for use when my current battery gets low. With my iPhone I never needed a second battery because of how great the battery life was however while the S3 does have good battery life a second battery is just a great positive.

    Question:

Anyone use any Emulators for their androids? I noticed on the app store the SNES one was very popular but I'm not sure I can justify four dollars for it. Although being able to play a link to the past and super mario world at work would be nice, not to mention the other emulators are also tempting especially the Game Boy color one for Pokémon. The thing is I do have a DS with a flash cart so I don't know if it's really worth putting it on the android. Plus I don't really use the DS all that much for it.

I don't know if you can post ROM sites on this forum or at least links to them but if anyone wants to PM what they use to get the roms that would be great. The last emulator I downloaded came with adware that kept putting random apps on my home screen that I didn't want so any recommendations would be great.

This is the free SNES emulator I use.

Also if you didn't know, you can use Wii Motes(NES) and Classic Wii Mote Controller (SNES and N64) with the Galaxy S3 along with the PS3 sixaxis controller so you don't have to use the on screen controls and play via bluetooth. Requires an app to do it, the WiiMote one might still be free, but the SixAxis app is a paid app.

After some searching and PM's I came across some non-store emulators that work fantastic without bloatware, and grabbed LTTP/SupermarioWorld/Pokemon Red&Crystal.

Loving being able to download and install things directly to it. No hoops to jump through or jailbreaking/rooting to emulate.

So Sprint updated my Galaxy S2 to ICS 4.04, and it has totally fucked my battery life. If I use the phone at all it drains battery while plugged in and charging, this was never an issue pre-update.

I tried the partition cache wipe method which did nothing, Sprint is recommending that I do a factory reset...does anyone else have this same issue and suggestions to fix it? About to just root it and go back to Gingerbread...

When my Nexus S went to ICS and to JB my battery life sucked for a week or so afterwards. After turning it off and on a few times and toggling all the data, wifi, BT, etc connections it magically started getting better and better and eventually back to or better than it was before the update. Doubt this will help you as its a different phone but I dunno just try to wait it out if you can.

Yea there's usually some growing pains with updates, but eventually they all fix themselves and usually are better for it.

Looking for a free PSX emulator to play FFT (or PSP if it's viable). I know of psx4android but the official downloads are dead, and there seems to be a later version (3.0.7 beta) floating around... But all the sources seem malicious or they want me to pay. Is there a good resource or place to download? (Galaxy s2e if that matters.)

Edit: Any decent sort of mini mmorpgs out there? F2P, P2P, whatever?

Double edit: I use Dolphin HD and certain websites don't load videos (gametrailers), require me use the stock video player (xhamster), or will load a video and not let me interact with the player outside of pause/play (mostly streams/animeultima). Is there anything I can do?
