When I turn off auto landscape, how do I get it to turn now.

Hmm, maybe I misread what you wanted. Did you only want it to unlock in Portrait mode, but then allow you to still turn it to landscape? If so, only thing I can think of is to try resetting the calibration so it realizes it's in Portrait mode to begin with? Other apps will still go to landscape mode, just not the home screen if you changed the setting in ADW.Launcher.

When I finish texting, I lock the phone, whether im in landscape or portrait. When I unlock it it puts me in landscape and it sends me to the top of my texting convo so I need to scroll down all the time. I want to use landscape, but I want it to unlock to portrait only.

Hmm, I second trying to calibrate your sensor in settings, but it really DOESN'T sound like it is a sensor issue if it always always opens in landscape mode. Are you using a replacement app for your Texting? I am using Handcent, and never have that issue. I looked in all of the settings available to the Message App (handcent and default) and see nothing about setting 'on open' orientation.

That said, I hate auto rotation, and pretty much always have it turned off. With Swype, texting in portrait mode is just as fast as landscape.

I don't think there's anything you can do about that. I just replicated it on my phone. Opened Messages, opened keyboard/went to landscape mode, locked the phone. When I unlock, it opens in landscape mode, then switches back to portrait after a second. Never noticed it, use swype, so don't need the keyboard in landscape mode. Let me give Handcent a try and see if it's the same. Your first message threw me off because you mentioned homescreen.

Edit: Err, take that back. Just tried a few more times and it's opened properly. Going to see what's going on with it.

Edit 2: I'd try Handcent out and see if that fixes your problem. I'm not using Stock Messaging app, so can't test that, but Handcent didn't seem to do what you're describing. May also want to try calibrating your phone anyways just to make sure it's not that.

I have gone back and forth on Widget Locker, and still haven't convinced myself that I need to use it. I do know that the Dev is pretty approachable though, and often addresses issues people have in various 'official' forums. Here is a thread that is pretty full of info and I know he posts there if the answer isn't already IN the thread. WidgetLocker Thread on Droid Forums (as posted above it seems)

As for a Launcher, I have LauncherPro Plus and love it. I have never had any issues, it plays well with everything else I use on my homescreens. Ultimately I think I would have been just as happy with ADW, but grabbed LauncherPro first. Themes are nice, though who knows... ADW may have them as well. Not that I use a themed LauncherPro. Everything I use for icons/widgets are created by myself anyway.

BattStatt - (linked the free version, there is also the pro) for the text battery
LauncherPro with the dock background set to 'none' and custom MnmlText Icons by Ultralinx.

Currently the only way to fix your phone if you completely fuck it up. Resets the phone to stock, original files etc.

Just installed LauncherPro, shit is so fast switching screens and going to the app drawer. Put on UltimateDroid Froyo Extreme 8.0 a few weeks ago, liking it so far. I had been using the stock motorola crap before then. I don't know how I had been using stock apps/roms for so long.

Also, I stole Graelinn's wallpaper, looks so nice.

With Launcher Pro, I can swipe the dock over, and add more shortcuts, so I use that instead of cluttering my screen. Other screens have various widgets, I just like my home screen clean.

Best thing about the full version is that it's free, albeit with ads. I might have actually paid for it anyways (just to support the maker, since the game is so fun/addictive.)
