Did a little searching and didn't see any new news regarding the LG Ally getting froyo any time soon as far as a release date or anything. Anyone hear anything?

I can't wait for 5 day batter life, I'm already getting 2 without undervolting.
Is there anyway to pirate launcherpro plus or anything? I'm still trying to decide which of the two launchers I want to use, and I've been trying launcherpro lately, but half the stuff I try to do it locks me out because I haven't bought the plus version, which is really pissing me off. I'm trying to decide which I want, if I knew I wanted launcherpro, I might shell out the $3 for it, but I'm not going to when I might not even like it anyway. meh.
can probably find the apk on demonoid or something.
nah you can't, it's unlocked through a single-person key that is given to you by a script after you pay on paypal.
I only paid for the twitter widget (it's very much like the Sense Twitter widget)
Also I'm amazed no one has mentionned the Nexus 2 which is a Samsung Galaxy S copy paste coming out with Gingerbread somewhat soon.
heh.
Google pretty much doomed the Nexus line to fail with how quickly they pulled sale/support for the Nexus 1. More people would be skiddish given googles track record no matter how cool the phone is.
Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but is anyone aware of any free cross platform android2.2/iphone games? I know of skies of glory and the baseball game but I'm just looking for a simple 2 player game I can kick my bosses ass at on monday. She's not a gamer by any stretch of the imagination so something simple we can both practice over the weekend would be teh awesome. Cheers all :D
I no almost nothing of the mytouch line. My friend has the old mytouch(I think its the old one) and it just got 2.2 thing is slow as fuck. I removed some stuff he does not use, cleared data, moved files I could to SD card, and its still somewhat slow.
What else could I do? I could reformat the phone but will that really do anything? Something tells me this phone was not meant to have froyo on it lol
Uh, Idk I just don't use it that often I guess? I run lowest brightness always, wifi almost always because I'm on campus. Running Autokiller @ Ultimate (but I don't think that really counts). Today I used it moderately, @12 hours right now and @50%, i'm using 1.2ghz and it's slightly overvolted. FYI, music almost does nothing to it. I listened to music for 3 hours through the external speaker and that shit didn't even budge. Overnight it doesn't even go down 10% so I don't charge until like 15~20% unless I know i'll be using it heavily that day.
ya droid x is nasty on life I am told.
My moto Droid sucks(max 1 day) but that is because I use slingplayer, thing eats it alive. thats with ULV/UC
Hey has your moto droid been slow and hell lately? I don't know what it is but any little thing I do which used to pop up fast as hell is now to a crawl, to the point where I'm sometimes waiting 5-10seconds just to open my menu. Any tips?
Clear cache (QuickAppCleanCache), clear SD, reinstall ROM... This happen to me on occasions on my Desire (like right now) but I'm too lazy to do a good cleaning.
clear dalvik cache too.(your phone will take a min to load up after doing this like it was a first time start up of a new rom)
dont be scared if some apps take a little longer to load as well, this cache deals with all .apk files. After you run them it should go back to normal.
flash a faster rom maybe. Check to see if SetCPU (or whatever system you use) is working right. If you flashed the phone with it still active and set on boot, there is a shot its slowing you down.
Gingerbread coming soon to Nexus One. http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/08/o...s-gingerbread/ :D
I just got a driod x last week and am loving it. Still learning it though and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for "must have" apps/widgets or any good driod sites?
off the top of my head this is what I get
http://www.droidforums.net/ (more of a droid 1 forum but still some cool stuff, some of the roms have been ported to other droid)
Im cheap so I wont lie, I DL most of the apps >.> so ya, you might not be into all of the ones that you pay for if you have to pay for them
Must have apps:
NFL Moblie
Taptalk Pro - (if you read forums)
Astro(Pro) - dont need pro there is the free one
Skyfire - (best Browser if you ask me)
Pandora - (if you want)
Shopsavvy- ya its more of a show off thing, but Iv used it to get some decent deals on stuff, works with Shopper by google)
Slingplayer - if you have a slingbox
Shazam - or that other one forget the name.
TiKL - Its so uch fun... maybe you wont keep it but lol why not
Quickoffice - its not cheap, but if you edit stuff its nice to have
dgaway - will auto answer SMS/phone calls with a text back to the person. (use when sleeping or whatever)
Picsay Pro
(if you root your phone)
Wireless Tether
Rom manager - (more of a if you want roms on your phone thing, you dont need root)
quitck app clean cach - (almost no point if you cant use the root function
LEDs Hack - will turn off the darn blinking you get.
Androzip : not much use but it can handle zip/rar etc decompression better than Astro
Beautiful Widgets : Good widgets (clock, date, temperature etc)
DropBox : DropBox is a cloud sync service between your computers/phone, their Android app is kind of shit but it's worth checking if you never heard of it
GameBoid, Gensoid, PSX4Droid etc : emulators for Android
MortPlayer : My favorite music played, folder based.
PhoneMyPC : To access your computer from your android, pretty good but might not be worth the price.
Swiftp : File Transfer Server to push files to your Android over wireless/3G
Twitter : if you're a twitter guy, the widget is shit but the app is really good.
ExtendedControls: Very, very useful widgets to toggle stuff like Wifi on/off, 3G, Vibrate mode... see what I mean
MiniInfo : Widget that shows current battery %, space left on both phone internal memory and SD card
Forgot a few, but I think those are worth checking.
