I dont use that rom, so I cant say if its normal. good luck man hope its as simple as getting a new apk.

4g for what? dont understand what you are asking ~_~

any 4g phone is 4g no matter what rom you have. 3g phones cant be turned into 4g phones(has to do with the internal radio)

our droids of the old days are going to be 3g forever.

(might not be a bad thing, limited bandwidth is on the way 3g phones should be unlimited till you go to a 4g phone.)

I guess I should be more specific... I thought custom rom didn't include 4G nor HDMI out option because they couldn't figure out how to code it? I don't really keep up with xda forums so i thought i might as well ask here. Oh and I have the Evo and running CM 6.1 which i think doesnt have 4g

Best bet it to look around the xda forums. It may or may not be worth your time, but I think they claim 4g works with that rom.

CM6/7 dont seem to have 4g working.

I do not know if its any good.

I know nothing about the Evo, so please read up before you flash anything lol that was just a fast look at the forums that seems to have 4g working/workaround

CM doesn't have 4g working because it was built from source and from the ground up. Most roms are just modifications of the phone's original rom, so everything is still intact.

I'm looking for an app that will automatically record and save my phone conversations. I've tried searching this forum as well as several others but haven't found one that seems to work. I have a Droid X and it is not rooted (I'd be willing to consider rooting it if the app required it). Can someone point me in the right direction?

I know Google voice used to be the only way, and that was only on incoming calls not outgoing. There is this app that some people say works. I think most apps that try to offer this functionality end up crashing more than they work or they get yanked from the Market due to varying state laws on recording phone calls.

Yea, I couldn't find one with reliable reviews. I did read up on the google voice thing but the only recording incoming calls kinda sucks. Also, apparently I'd have to give out the google voice number instead of my actual number. The app you posted seems to only be a call log, not actual audio recordings (unless that one review is incorrect?). I appreciate you looking though.

I just reverted from Cyanogen 6.1 to stock froyo due to reliability issues with tethering and mobile internet connectivity, however I'm really missing the keyboard from the rom. Does anyone know of a way to get just the keyboard from the rom onto my phone? Or at the very least a very similar keyboard?

Google for Cyanogen keyboard apk, or look in the zip file you installed and look for it in there.

I assume it will probably be in system/app

Just to update you guys I've totally found my way around manipulating my device. Finally got a super-clean version of Froyo for my SGS, now there's a CM7 working in the background by punk.kaos I'm looking forward to.

Also got the FPSE for Android, which is by far the sweetest PSX emulator for handhelds you can get.

I believe CM actually got 4G on Sprint working properly.

For the Evo, yes.

The Epic doesn't have it yet, but our CM is still very young. We just finally got an official froyo yesterday, so I assume that CM development will be taking off once again.

The main issue with 4G on the Evo was the drivers, I think. Apparently they didn't write them to WiMax specifications or something? Not sure, all I heard was people say that when they get around to it, it should be easier on the Epic since they actually followed the specifications.

Ok so, I just just today picked up my first Android phone the Epic 4g. This is quite an upgrade over my blackberry and with all the features and stuff it feels a bit overwhelming. But, my main priority is learning what are some of the do's and dont's and how do I go about maxing out the features of the phone. Specifically I'm interested in making sure my battery life lasts as long as possible and I've heard people mention that deleting apps that constantly run in the background helps to save battery, but again I just got the phone and I have no idea where to start. Hopefully someone can guide to stuff that I'm sure has been discussed in this thread but there's just so much to look through and I'm not at all familiar with anything about these phones.

Turn 4g off if your not using it, keep your brightness down for the most part. I dont really know of any do's and dont's

I dont no about the epic, but try a Ultra low kernel or low volt kernel if you plan to hack it.(can the epic install new kernels?)
