why not? iv been running it on my moto droid for weeks. Ya i get random restarts but its moving along so well I see no reason not to. Am I missing something?

I recently picked up a screen protector for my xoom and ZAGG and I got a couple 25% off discount codes from them. Not sure what bloatware comes preinstalled on the SGS 4G but I'd start with anything with carrier branding.

Titanium Backup Pro, Root Explorer, and Clockwork.

You can freeze all of the crapware just in case you get an OTA update. If you plan on just installing ROMs on your phone and not doing OTA updates, you can just remove them all and delete the odex files of some of the installed apps you plan on keeping.

Clockwork will let you do a nandroid backup in case something goes awry.

Looks like the time has come for me to get a new phone. And its going to be the evo. Anyone got some good forums for it(droidforums.net wont cut it anymore they are moto only) Need ones that talk about roms and such.

This was a pretty good forum I used to check out. Looks kinda gutted now but I'm guessing more shows up if you register.

I think these guys were the first ones to root the DX. There is also a nice one click root program for the dx here a well.
