The original post should link XDA developers for those interested in rooting/debloating/custom theming their phones. I'm on that site daily and rooted.
If you're using a Galaxy S device and need help feel free to PM me. I use a Fascinate. I recommend Voodoo/Super Clean 2.9.2 (Froyo ROM). It's a clean install identical to what the Nexus S is running.
Does CM7 Have its own built in taskmanager or should I download one?
What exactly do you mean Task Manager? I like to use ZDBox
Dunno if cm7 does or not but this is the task manager I use.

I was making sure we were on the same page and if you were asking if it still had the stock task manager or a 3rd party one
Went to sprint to complain about my battery.. they couldn't figure anything out so they gave me a new battery (their battery tester was broken).. And still no improvements ; ; 3 hours since I unplugged and down almost 20% Uninstalled the amazon app store so everything is back to how it was before I started having problems and still nothing so dunno what's going on anymore. They said if the problem persists to bring it in and they could replace the phone, so might do that tomorrow..
I hate not being able to easily pinpoint a battery hog. Recently, well for the last month or so my Pure Calendar Widget (Agenda) has been loading waaay too much. It basically refreshed every few minutes. I didn't notice it for the longest time because it is on a screen I really only check every now and then. Tried uninstall/reinstall, and finally just dumped it and switched to Android Agenda Widget. Love it, battery was at 80% after an entire day at my desk. Normally i have 50% IF i am lucky and that is with the phone being largely idle while I am at work. So nice to have figured it out. Sad to see Pure go, but I actually like the look of Android Agenda Widget even more.
Hopefully you can figure things out. I know there are monitor apps that might help you pinpoint the problem, but I never had any luck with them.
Actually I'm going to start downloading all the ones I can off amazon appstore. It will keep track of the apps I had installed after I flash a new rom much better than the android market will.
What do you need a task mng for? whatever you do if its a task killer for the love of god dont have it auto kill apps...
I'm guessing auto kill causes errors
ZD doesn't autokill iirc, but it gives you the option to along with a lot of other shit like Data usage, battery life, lock apps.. etc
thats why i like it

Because as soon as you kill it it gets started right back up again. Having apps unfocused in the background doesn't use any more battery than if they were dead. You still need some type of task manager to kill the rogue app that is fucking up and won't close though. Slacker does that to me constantly.
Also about amazon app store, it seems a lot of their apps are older versions than the ones on the market, so I am not even gonna use them for free crap anymore. Except the free paid app of course. Which is soundhound today btw.
Strange, I have SoundHound already, from the Market and it was free? I could be missing the difference between it and the paid version. Looks like the 4.99 version has a widget? I can live without that I guess. Overall the app is not bad though, the free version I have at least.
For the most part what he said. Android 2.1 and over is very good at storing apps in the ram without using any battery at all.
You dont even need it really. It depends I have mine only because I got the paid app when the moto droid came out(back then it did help somewhat) You can force close any app you need under applications. app killers are more of a short cut then anything else really now. They do no good for newer phones.
I could never get SoundHound to work right... Shazam has no limit on tagging for me so Iv just stuck with it.
