For those running CM7, is there a setting to mute camera sounds? I hate the stupid zoom and snap sounds it makes

its the thunderbolt, N1 I really dont no. But the N1 is a dev phone right? should have tons of stuff. 1.8Ghz? idk though.
as for the camera sound, no way to turn off the stock one. I guess you could delete the sound file. I have no clue where it is. Got to be in systems folder somewhere. or get a new app ~_~;
Damn, Bugless beast had a option to mute the shitty sound
There is, but you will need Root Explorer to do it.
Navigate to /system/media/audio/ui and located the file camera_click.ogg
select the button at the top: Mount R/W
rename or delete the file camera_click.ogg (i renamed it).
Select the button again (Mount R/O)
and done.
People also use Tasker to do it when the camera is open.
I could swear you just turn down the volume to silent on the phone and it muted the camera.
The Media volume is down?
You have to do that manually and its not in the profile to edit
Thats what I meant
then it mutes everything else, i dont want that
tasker is an app.

you would set it to mute when the camera is open
Thunderbolt uses a second generation snapdragon. I believe its slightly diferent than the N1/Evo/Incredible proccessor
Sent from my Galaxy S
Thinking about finally getting an Android phone really soon. What's the average life for a phone like the Evo, Nexus S or any other Android phone? Friend of mine letting me use his HTC Hero since he doesn't use anymore so I can get used to the OS. I rooted it and installed Gingerbread on it and it runs okay but with nearly nothing running, battery life is like 3hr. This is with most things turned off. Only apps running are beautiful widgets and ZDBox majority of the time.
Also, best screen size and keyboard for someone w/ fat fingers? I currently have an iPhone and the keyboard's great but using the Hero, I have to use the edge of my fingernails at times to accurately type on the on-screen KB.
