Just downloaded it. So glad they added the "play all by artist" option. Only thing that I've noticed is Last.fm doesn't seem to be scrobbling with the new app.

Alright, I'm on Verizon and my upgrade time is coming up in about 2 months. I currently have a Droid by Motorola. What are my choices/should I wait for anything big? I'm not really up on all the new phones yet.

    4G: Thunderbolt
Droid Change(there is a hold on this phone, stores have it but cant sell it* some people report bestbuy/target selling it sometimes though)
    3g: Droid Inc 2(touch screen)
    Droid 2 Global(keyboard as well)
    iphone4

Coming soon phones. Droid Bionic(Dual Core,4g maybe), Droid 3(still has keyboard, Maybe dual core*, 3g), Iphone 5(4g or 3g? no clue myself) I think as well?

The phones that are coming soon are pegged to come out this year. When, thats anyones guess. The Bionic was said to be canceled but then it was Q4, Iphone this summer I think, Droid 3 is sometime in the next few months(no set in stone date)

    forgot the droid change lol

I've been waiting for the Bionic as I have an upgrade available, but I think I just might go with the TB as I don't really want to wait too much longer.

I'm going to sell my iPhone 4 either this summer or sept, depending on which phone looks best, and use the money to cancel my AT&T contract and switch to a new phone on verizon.

Hopefully there is a phone worth switching early to.

almost any phone is worth it, the only one I see no point to as of now is the Droid Inc 2. Outside needing a global phone(it is that by the way) the Thunderbolt is cheaper, better specs and has 4g. Yes battery life is not so great, but that can be fixed via Rooting(or just turn off the 4g lol).

Juice Defender Ultimate on the Thunderbolt yo. I've seen that shit go 2.5 days on a charge.

Can only get 1.88x the battery life off my N1 though.

    @ rezn0r

Good thing the vast majority of my music is OCRemixes and some misc game tracks.

Just placed my upgrade order for the thunderbolt. It looks like 4G was included in my data plan ($30/month unlimited), or at least there wasn't an option to/not select it. I'll get to test it out next week in St Louis as it isn't in Milwaukee just yet. Am excite.

ya same price for 4g as 3g as of now. Its why I locked in on the TB.

Just note you are going to hate the battery life off the bat, its something you will have to work on and may take a few weeks to get it down.

As I said above... Use Juice Defender Ultimate and remove any of the VZ bloatware.

Im not a big fan of juice defender, i run almost everything at full speed. And the interactive kernel is fine for heavy use on BAMF to get a full day.

It depends on the person, id say try it out and see if you like the program(it too might take time to get working perfect, few days of testing and what not)

just got my HTC inspire.. HSPA+ only atm. But fairly enjoying the hell outa it.
    Found this app
    http://www.junefabrics.com/android/
that lets me tether without rooting or having that bullshit tethering plan. Works like a dream since i have that grandfather unlimited data plan.
How come you niggas didn't tell me how great these phones are. Only thing i have an issue with is the custom tones/alerts. I want my fucking MGS codec alert for my txt messages.
Anybody know a work around? if push comes to shove i may end up rooting but im trying to Avoid it. Since i have never done it before, and kinda scared to do it myself.

if its your first time rooting the major thing is to read, you cant really break anything if you read up on it. I dont even flinch when I root a phone anymore, my moto droid a year and half back took me some time. But once you do it, bla no turning back you cant live without it.

Jump on over to the XDA forums for any help, if you want to no anything some people will help you out here, thing is if its your first time doing it find someone who has done it with said phone. Id be willing to help people with the moto droid, HTC evo, or Thunderbolt(or I-phones and such, but thats a joke a 5 year old could do that). even though things dont change to much, things are a little different from phone to phone.

as for your sound, Personalize>Notification Sound
that should work, I cant test it right now, but it sounds right. (took HTC sense off my TB lol)

Btw to make something a ringtone it - the sound file must be placed in a particular folder.

    /sdcard/media/alarms
    /sdcard/media/notifications
    /sdcard/media/ringtones

If you want to set a song as a ringtone just open the music player and long press the song. Unfortunately this doesn't let you pick which part of the song so it'll play from the start.

As for rooting/unlocking; as Dejet said check XDA-Devs forum or try theunlockr.com they usually have guides for various phones.

I like Ringtone Maker (The apps symbol is a blue background with a white music note, free from market) Once you find the music file, I really like how it lets you see the wave of the file and choose the start and stop point. Then just save and put it in the right folder and set!

Yeah that's pretty much the only bad thing I've heard so far. Do you have the extended battery? I was going to pick one up but I haven't really found any good sources on how much it adds to the life (at stock anyways).
