Yeah, it was 129 at verizon, then now its 199 but bogo. Costco has em for $99 (i mentioned that) and some places have them for $59 and even FREE. I told them that while yes it is over 14 days at the time of the call, the price was reduced WITHIN the 14 days, I just didn't have time to call them right away. Technically, if I kept pushing, I think I could have got the full price match, since the price changed occured within 14 days of getting mine.

they're both good phones, with Nexus... you know you're gonna get Ice Cream Sandwich right away... where as you'd have to root and all that with any other phone and run a rom with ICS

Just for comparison sakes. Note the difference in RAM on the Photon/Bionic, its presumed the other half a gig they have on top of the D3 will be used for Webtop, making the phones nearly identical performance wise. Will be interesting to see how the new Tegra 2 does on benchmarks. Also excited to see this HTC device that's supposed to have dual core 1.5ghz snapdragon and the new 220 adreno gpu.

UK onry question here if anyone who reads this thread is UK onry...

Looking to get a new phone, want a pro phone with pro stuff without a pro price (lol). There's a whole hoot of phones out there that are pro, but which are the best pro-phones on the UK market atm, and are there any worth waiting for (in the next month-ish)?? Reading all the recent stuff, the Droid3 looks mightily impressive, but that's a US onry phone, and I know there's a lot of stuff that's got shit that matches it (8 mega pixel, dual-core processors, HDMI 1040p whatever videoing, etc etc)?

I've been looking at the Galaxy S2, good/bad? Any other ones out there? No matter what phone shop you go in, they just want to give you the most overpriced phone with a ridiculous contract to boot, but if I know the phone, I can find a good contract myself.

Galaxy s2 is a pretty good phone. I'm not sure whats available in the UK currently, but things you'll want to make sure the phone has to make sure its up to the current standards is: Dual-Core processor, 512mb ram (or more), front facing camera. At that point, it's best to go into the store, compare the phones that have those specs and play around with the demos. See how they feel in your hand, how you like the look of the screen, the lock button, etc. When comparing android phones between different manufacturer's (i.e. motorola and HTC) remember that each maker has their own custom UI which will look slightly different, even though it's all android at the bottom of it. Moto uses motorblur, htc uses HTCsense, and some manufacturers or certain phones will come with vanilla android. Don't let that part bother you too much as you can always change the overall look of things with a different launcher and by adding custom widgets. Once these newer phones get rooted, you can completely tweak the OS to your liking via custom roms.

do not limit yourself to dual core unless your a person who keeps their phone for 2 full years(then again I no the UK does not have 2 year contracts lol so that is a moot point) single core phones that have root and can be kicked up past 1200mhz are just fine. Dual cores will cost you money most of the time its the *new tech*

UK pricing is not the same as US pricing they pay full price on phones. dont look only into dual cores your going to end up at a much higher price point.

I finally got ZumoCast to pull up my music while I'm at my house(aka worthless) but I can't get it to play any of my mp3s it says "Skipping track due to media/streaming error" Has anyone else had this many problems with it?

EDIT: Router is blocking the connection even though I thought I added everything correctly. How can I get it to allow when my IP is going to change constantly from where I'm at on the network?

Not till q1 of 1012 lol who wants to wait 6 to 8 months for a phone? Also UK people don't get locked into long contracts! Much more easy to pick up a new phone in a year then here in the good old US.

If this holds true(and its going to) I may stick with HTC, moto makes some kick ass phones but they are dragging their feet and playing games with this. their *if the provider lets us* does not sound right to me. The first moto droid had one, give me a break!

Would rooted D3 mean you could OC it past 1ghz, or are dual core much harder and it wouldn't be possible? Reading this thread making me very antsy to just go out and get a D3 at full price (upgrade not til dec 6)

I dunno about the droid3, but with the Evo 3D thats dual core stock at 1.2ghz, they got it OC'd to 1.8ghz so far

Yeah, install the apps manually instead of recovering from google. I sync'd my contacts through back up manager, but I manually added the apps. I was reading back during the first few weeks the pople who's batterys were dying in several hours with the phones "doing nothing". The thing they all had in common was they all loaded up the apps from their google accounts.
