Soooo, anymore information on that Bionic? It really got pushed back to September didn't it?![]()
lots of information out now that it passed the FCC... the last i saw for supposed dates is 9/8, 4.3" and not 4.5" screen like some sites were reporting... most other info feels like it's been known for awhile. my problem now is that i also saw the Galaxy S2 listed for 9/8 and has LTE support... so what do i pick now? pretty pumped (not) i also ended up paying for 2 months of VZW without even using it, just to keep the unlimited data...
a few weeks back i setup a Google alert for the Bionic... the amount of misinformation and horribly written articles on mobile sites is ridiculous
Yeah, consensus seems to be 9/8 as the release (although I don't think that's confirmed as official yet, but the Motorola CEO did say September). I'm also keeping an eye in the GS2, but LTE hasn't been confirmed on that yet. I'll just have to wait until they hit the stores, or until GS2 info gets confirmed, to make my decision.
I did go into the store to check out the D3 and I almost walked out with one. But I don't know if I'll still be happy with 3G for the next two years, so it makes sense to check out the Bionic first. I never use the physical keyboard on my OG Droid, so that's not a big selling point for me. I have to say though, the keyboard on the D3 felt so nice, I might actually use it if I had that phone.

i keep forgetting that LTE isn't officially confirmed for the S2... right now i'm leaning more towards the Bionic just because i know it's LTE & a clear(er) time frame. i'm upgrading from an iPhone 3G so really either of them will be a big jump
I still have the original droid and I've been patiently waiting to see the Bionic and S2. However, I might be waiting till October to see what the Prime and Vigor offer.
You're gonna be waiting a while. Personally I went with the D3 because I don't want a first gen LTE phone, I'm sure the second wave will feature faster speeds and more importantly better battery life. At home I have wifi which is faster than 4g, and the 3g is phenominally fast. (About 300 kB/s down and 100kB/s up, both figures in bytes obviously, not bits)
After a full day of useage here's my stats once again

Woke up, checked in about 4 times on foursquare, played music on the train (2hrs) checked twitter and posted a few times, checked facebook, Played music from 1pm to about 4pm, until 4:20pm I haven't really touched the phone, Currently sitting on 20%
Not sure if this is an improvement from before since my phone has now become my main music player, which probably kills the battery quicker for me, but it seems to be an improvement? Right?

sooo maybe unlocked bootloaders and vanilla Android on moto phones soon??
I just got a droid 3, whats different between the android it has and vanilla android?
No moto blur?
So google bought moto.... unlocked bootloaders in the future... for a true google experience? Maybe? Please?
I hope Motorola steps up their build quality and look. Their phones, while beastly, don't exactly look attractive. I would have much rather seen Google eat HTC. lol
Looking forward to that next Nexus device. I'm itchin for an upgrade.
are android phones any good? thinking about buying a android phone (i like the new sony xperia mini pro, but didnt find any tests about it yet) for music/web/camera etc or keep my old phone and buy a ipod touch 4g (or wait for 5g if they release a new one this year) i know that the ipod touch doenst have mobil internet but not so important, i would mostly use w-lan at home (maybe add a mobil internet when i have a new job)
i heard that many people dont like android apps because they need so many "rights"? I heard for example that skype, facebook apps have the "rights" to save personal data and send it back to the server, is that really a problem or are these people just to carefu (i mean does the app really "steal" personal data and use it or do these apps only need a few personal things that are really used in the app)?
Android phones are great, some apps do *mine data* but for the most part they are safe. The same can be said about iphone apps too. Be smart on what you download. See why the app uses the permissions. If it does not say why it needs them maybe dont DL it lol.
I dont want do download many apps anyways, was worried about facebook, skype, icq (because these apps need many personal data) for example but I guess they are safe and good since they are from a official "big company"? And maybe a few games like Angry Birds, or Plants vs Zombies. I dont plan to download stuff from some randoms anyways D:
