I agree. My phone running on sense 3.0 and its so freaking sexy.
Happy Bionic release day yall. Some peeps over at droid forums got their's yesterday (wednesday), guess they had very nice rep's at the verizon store. Anyway, initial reports is it does feel snappier than D3, probably due to the 1gb ram (which people were saying half is used for webtop, but from what I've read recently, is not the case). Honestly, I'm very happy with my D3, and I'll probably keep it until a year or so from now, and then just badger verizon into giving me an early upgrade if I sign up for another 2 years. worked with my last 2 phones (6 months, and 8 months respectively).
Heading to Costco in the morning to grab the Bionic (great accessory deal). The D3 was very tempting, but I think I'll be happy I waited. There were some videos, before they got pulled, from a guy that got one early straight from Motorola and it looks great. He showed a side-by-side speedtest next to a Thunderbolt and the Bionic smoked it. Looks like Moto did good designing their own 4G chip.
I'll be heading over to Verizon tonight after work, really looking forward to replacing my droid!
Costco has only been getting 6 per store. I was 4th in line, glad I showed up early. Paid for and waiting for activation.
The speeds they tested it at I've seen (25mb download and such) makes my damn home connection seem like shit (it is)
Suck on it, keyboard man! Just teasing you Rag, just excited to finally replace my Droid. I'm not even super excited about 4g LTE or anything, I'm just excited to get something that isn't slow as shit. I really don't know why my Droid slowed down so bad (ever after flashing it with CM7). I guess it's just old and busted. :/
things age, my droid 1 slowed down a lot as well. I think it may have been me messing with the clock speeds so much and flashing so much stuff that was not ready for the phone itself.
I could not even OC it to 1.2ghz at the end of its life it just restart(same kernel i used forever)
Yeah, my Droid 1 got so slow towards the last few months of it's life. So happy with my Droid 3 now.
Love my D3 but the Bionic seems to be doing well. Fucking bastards already have root on 0 day, we had to wait forever for that shit.
Got my Bionic, shit is amazing...
hoping to grab mine in the morning, i wanted it today but i had a concert tonight and ran out of time. i have tomorrow off but need to drive pretty far for a bachelor party weekend.... hoping to pick it up early (if they still have any in) and charging it on the way
I'd be a sad panda cause the bionic came out so soon after D3, but I like my physical keyboard; plus that screen is HUGE.
Flash your OG droids to it's original launch version of Android, and enjoy its revitalized speed. Sometimes I think the software updates for old phones are intentionally sluggish to force you to upgrade.
I'm pretty sure that's true concerning iOS & iPhone 3G/3GS!
I did a factory reset and a flash to CM7 and the phone definitely felt faster but slowed down again shortly thereafter. Old hardware is just old I guess. That said, not regretting my upgrade decision in the least. Phone is fast as hell and 4G is better than I could have ever imagined.
CM7 is about as fast as you can get on OG droid. outside of you having a lucky droid like I did at the start(where OC speeds caped crazy high) you cant do anything more then CM7.
