If you're talking about my og droid, too late now! I may do that anyways though just to mess around, since I still have the phone.

Question about the Bionic or perhaps just a gingerbread question. On my old droid, if I mistyped something and hit space, the word would auto correct and complete itself. My Bionic isn't doing this. Is this a setting I need to enable somewhere?

Are you using a physical keyboard or the on screen keyboard? For some reason I think the physical kb doesnt get auto correct.

In this case, I'm referring to using virtual keyboard for both the Droid 1 and Bionic. It may also be a difference between the CM7 keyboard and the 2.3.4 keyboard on the Bionic.

There's "Touch to correct words" then at the bottom should be word suggestion settings. I believe this is what your looking for. If those are already enabled, make sure you have English selected on the main screen of language and keyboard settings.

There's some slight differences here, but I found the general option I think. There was an option for "Auto-correct errors" that I missed somehow when I looked earlier. The description for this option is "Spacebar and punctuation automatically insert highlighted word in ribbon control." This has to be it, thanks Mafai.

For you guys on OG droid, I use Peter Alfonso's stock rom: http://www.peteralfonso.com/

It's optimized for the OG Droid, uses a lot of CM7 code. It's not CM7 based, though. It's faster than CM7, and appears (and acts) completely like stock Android 2.3

This is the only thing keeping my phone alive. I can wait for the HTC Vigor/Nexus Prime because of it.

By the way, I have it overclocked to 1.2GHz with his kernels, which are also on his page, if you search for them.

Played with the Bionic a bit yesterday. It's pretty fast, but the battery life is an utter joke. Guy was telling me I'd probably need to charge it 3 times in one day depending on usage. Guess my sister is going to have to wait for another phone to upgrade from her enV to lol.

Wow...thats horrible lol. Even if he was exaggerating by double the amount, in comparison i can go a day in a half with heavy forum browsing and some youtubin during my lunch break.

My sister travels to maryland pretty much every other weekend, if not every weekend, and sometimes to michigan too. So her phone needs battery life, she can't have it charged in half the time.

It really worries me about other/future dual cores.

I dunno how other people's usage compares to mine, but I had 40% battery after 12 hours of usage. I was texting quite a bit, browsing the web some, checking apps like Joystiq, etc.

Honestly those guys at the store want to sell you whatever costs the most and is the newest so I was surprised when he came out with the line about the battery as early as he did. It was like 2 minutes into our conversation, and was a huge turn off.

Obviously it's a turnoff, he shouldn't be mentioning it to a customer he's trying to pitch the product to. Kudos to the guy for actually telling the truth though.

I'm not going to hide the fact that I'm a Bionic hater due to all of the delays for only mediocre specs at the final release, but I just don't see any reason at all to get this phone if you can manage to hold off a couple more weeks.

Especially with what I've been hearing about how locked down the bootloader is on xda...

My sister has been waiting over a year to upgrade her phone, every time she wants to grab something new I say "just wait another 2 weeks, or month!" as something new has been around the corner every time. She wanted to grab the iphone when it hit verizon for example, but it was like halfway through its life when it hit verizon so I basically said "nah wait for next gen or bionic." And now that that's here... lol

Only 3.5 weeks from now.

When you're locked into a contract for 2 years, it's hard, but I can definitely wait another month for something that much better.

I'd be a lot more ready to buy the Bionic if it was like they had originally claimed it to be. 1.2GHz, unlocked bootloader, etc

Do we actually have a definite timeline for Nexus Prime release? I was tempted to wait for it but I'm skeptical about release dates after watching the Bionic get pushed back several times.

We have the roadmap, that says the phone pegged as the Prime will be on October 5

HTC Vigor is also October 5

iPhone is rumored (very heavily) to be October 7

None of these phones are internationally released first, so there is no reason for them to be delayed.

HTC is holding a press conference on the 20th and will most likely release some info on the Vigor. Something similar to what Samsung did a few weeks ago to discuss the galaxy S II so I think it's pretty reasonable to guess that the Vigor will come out in early October.
