Very simple reason behind that one.

Lot of Droid 1 owners got a 2 year contract, which is just now expiring. Droid 3 owners are just starting their contract.

Those people on Droid 1 contracts are trying to keep their devices alive long enough for the fall lineup of phones.

So many devices lost developers when the HTC thunderbolt came out. They are not holding on to Droid 1s. Developers get donations and sometimes free devices from users (team whiskey). The Droid 3 was just a bad idea, the lack of LTE is what will be the death of that device's development.

I'm merely justifying the reason behind the Droid 1 still having a strong community.

this Bionic's battery has improved greatly... it was around 15% after 25 hours, with a lot of web use & texting yesterday. i was starting to get worried about it near the start of the week but it seems great now. it also charged to full in 2 hours plugged into an outlet, it was closer to 4 at the start of the week.

The Bionic is the latest flagship phone, which is why it got all of its press and has that much more support already. The D3, and motorola's software is similar/same in many ways, and theres already a fair amount of respected developers with devices, so no doubt there will be plenty of support. As much as the Bionic, or next google phone? No, but it should be more than enough to please even most "power users".

Anyone else having a problem with their Bionic where it doesn't wake back up and you have to pull the battery in order to restart it? Today was the 2nd time since I got the phone that this has happened and my case is a bitch to take off.

Does anyone know if there is a music player for Android phones that can play video game music in their different formats (.spc, .nsf, .miniusf, etc)? I'd rather not have to hunt down the .mp3s of all of the stuff I already have.

happened once one night last week, i chalked it up to the battery breaking in, because it's only improved since then. hopefully it doesn't happen again.

If this is real, and it looks like it, be rest assured that ICS will be able to run on most phones. That seems to be running on a Nexus S 4G, which is a 1GHz single core with 512MB of RAM.

So, if you have a phone any newer than what looks like around the Droid X, you should be pretty much all good to run it.

Another refreshing reveal, if real, is that the hardware buttons, while it looks like they won't be needed for phones running ICS out of the box, are still very much functional in those that do.

as I headed into work tonight I got a OTA update for my D3. updated it and that was it. didn't have time to play with it. anyone else get it and tried it out yet? wondering if it fixed or broke anything.

I got it, and have no idea what it did. If it didn't fix the camera then idgf lol.

The update notes said it did. Also says improved battery life and a few other things.

Personally, I hope it exorcised the demon possessing my keyboard. I'm really tired of deleting extra characters that randomly get shoved into my texts and the weird symbol popups all the time.

I tried my camera, shit still looks blue as fuck. I'm gonna take my droid tomorrow and compare it to the ones at the store and see what the camera looks like, etc. Maybe I'll get lucky and some one there can tell me wtf.

Well played with it some more. Google Navigator will not work. I put in a address. Typed or voice. It goes to retrieve directions and just dumps me out to the homescreen. Even trying to display Google Maps. It crashes and dumps me to the homescreen. No error messages or anything. Wtf

As for Smurf effect from camera. I never noticed it before but I do sense a extra 1/2 sec. lag before pic is taken. Battery life feels the same to me.

Not sure what you're doing but My blue has been gone for while a while, since I've had the updated for almost a month now

Never had this issue, reboot your phone, check your data and signal

My phone is also rooted and bloatware frozen, so my battery life is pretty amazing now, even with normal phone use I get about 1d and a few hours on mine

Signal and data work fine. I tried rebooting, no success. I then uninstalled and reinstalled Google Maps and it works now. Werid, but it works so I am happy. Thanks for the suggestions.
