Why does it have to be so god damned big? The screen alone is an inch larger than my entire iphone. I don't want a tablet in my jeans. I was all ready to jump ship after the subpar 4s announcement, now I'll just wait til next year. Four inch screen is the sweetspot.

So far... from what it seems. The difference in terms of appearance/features:

Eclair >>>>>>> Froyo >>>> Gingerbread >>>>>>>>>>>>> Ice Cream Sandwich

It's the same size as the SGSII, it just has more screen real estate

Quick video of all those phones next to each other.

It's not that much bigger because of what they did with the bezel.

So Pdanet stopped working for me, It didnt detect my phone, and sits there saying connecting to phone, during the desktop installation it does nothing when its trying to "install to my phone"

I emailed support and they have no idea, whats wrong. I have all the correct drivers, cleaned them out and installed new ones and still nothing.

I tried Easytether, and that still doesn't work. I hooked up my OG droid and pdanet works fine, so that means something is wrong with the phone.

    Anyone else has this issue?

Wired tethering without root required? Or do you have roor?

Did you maybe disable USB debugging? I think pdanet requires it enabled to work.

I managed to solve this and thought I'd share how it went. I had the same problem on Vista when I connected a different android phone and at first forgot to set USB debugging on. After that it would not recognize the phone. Searched all forums and nothing worked until I uninstalled the USB Mass Storage Device controller in Device Manager. After that, I installed PDANet again and it went smooth.

We were just a tad disappointed when the Motorola Droid 3 came out without Verizon's signature LTE logo on the back, but a mere three months later the QWERTY slider is back with a new model that should be packing 4G. The images above and below, procured by Droid-Life, show what looks to be a super-slim device with the same slight curves on the corner as the RAZR, and tapered back akin to the Droid Bionic. And, interestingly enough, it appears to be nearly complete, judging by the non-Mr. Blurrycam quality of the images and the tutorial stickers on the screen. Not only does the device appear to offer LTE, it also adds Webtop and should be compatible with the LapDock 100 and 500. Rounding out the tentative specs are a 4-inch display, spacious five-row keyboard (with number row included), 1080p HD video capture, front-facing camera and a non-removable battery. It also comes with Android 2.3.5 installed instead of Ice Cream Sandwich, something which we hope to see remedied soon after launch. Looks like we're finally close to having a high-end QWERTY option on Verizon's 4G lineup.
    Nice

It was my ROM, which is weird because it's the vanilla rom, I just installed Liberty Rom and it works just fine

My contract with AT&T is up for renewal and I decided to go with a droid phone. On my lunch break, I hit up AT&T and decided to go with the Galaxy S II. I figured I'd wait to see if the fiancee wants to upgrade her phone too, so I said I'd come back after speaking to her. I got back to work and checked engadget and saw that the Galaxy S II Skyrocket is coming out for AT&T in less than a week and priced at $50 more. This is probably a stupid question, but is LTE worth the extra 50 bucks? Should I even bother since I live in the NYC area, so we don't even have LTE coverage yet.

Yes, and What? NYC area was one of the first to have LTE, not sure if carrier matters in this case, since I know verzion pretty much started here, but god yes, the speeds on 4g LTE make home internet connections look like dial up

    Except, skyrocket or HTC holiday?

Skyrocket. The S II is one of the best smartphones ever. Can't go wrong.
