Help, new motherboard, processor, memory no screen

Hello, I just got in my new motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128419), processor (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103873, And memory (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227558).

    I have a ATI Radeon 5670 1GB GDDR5 graphics card.

I installed everything according to the manual. There is a space for a 8 pin 12v connector, but my power supply only came with a 4 pin connector. I went ahead and plugged in the 4 pin connector to the correct spot where the instructions specified. The 8 pin is reccomended for high wattage processors, but mine is only 65W, so I don't think its required.

I plugged the power supply in, my mouse and keyboard and monitor in the back, and turned the computer on. Everything starts up well, the fans and the lights and everything come on, but I hear one long beep and the monitor goes back to sleep with a "no signal".

I read the troubleshooting part of the manual and saw that one long continuous beep indicated that the graphics card has failed, so i went and switched it out with a backup I have. Well needless to say it still gave me the long beep. I also swapped the memory places, took one out, took both out and still that same long beep.

After that I took the RAM, video card, and all HDDs besides the one with windows installed out, but still long beep! Right now the Gigabyte website seems down... On the compatibility list, my processor isn't listed but it came out just this month so I didn't expect any lists to be updated. The processor right under the new one (the Athlon II x2 255 3.1GHz) is basically the exact same thing to the 260. So I don't see why that would be the issue.

Also, there is no "beep" error code for the processor in the manual, all it has under one long beep is the graphics card error.

I'm sorry to bother y'all with this, it's my first time switching this type of things out. Ive done video cards, HDDs, etc, but never the heart of the machine. I guess I can't always expect things to go smoothly! My friend suggested that I leave the computer on for 5 minutes to see if it doesn't catch on, but I don't know if that's a good idea. The Processor's heat sink does get hot to the touch, so it's getting power. So I would really appricaite some advice... Thanks.

One long continuous beep usually means that your GPU requires additional power and its not getting it. Did you remember to plug in the 6 pin PCI-e wire from your power supply into the card?

Hmm seems your card doesn't require extra power. It might just be DOA.

Yeah, it doesn't need extra power. My system doesn't need a whole lot of power in general. Thep roblem is I just need to know what part is my problem... I have no other sticks of DDR3 to test, and no processor... Right now its acting like its restarting over and over w/o a display, because I can hear the HDDs sound like they keep "booting up"

I got it to stop making the HDD keep booting up. It seems to be working fine, other than the fact I can't see anything. The lights in the back are blinking to signal tramsision between the ethernet cable and the computer, the light in front of the computer to signal HDD activity is going "blink blink .. blink blink" 5 second pause in between the four blinks. I just can't see anything!

You have an extra GPU that you can use to test?

Why did you buy DDR3 1600 RAM for that mobo? Doesn't seem like it natively supports it, probably after a BIOS update but not out of the box. ;/

Go ahead and connect the extra 4 pins to the CPU, if thats available.

Try turning on your PC with different RAM sticks at a time. Try once in a blue port then in white with each stick. I know for my Gigabyte mobo I'm supposed to skip the first port.

If all else fails. Go bare minimum for boot. GPU/Mobo/CPU/RAM/PSU. No keyboard/mouse/CD/DVD/HDD/extra peripherals.

How many watts is your PSU?

I got the 1600 RAM because it was the cheapest 4GB kit, even cheaper than a 1333. I'll try fiddling with the order of the RAM sticks... AHA! Only one stick in the 2nd slot booted. So I'm guessing it's the memory. Should I return these two sticks and get a better kind? Thanks for your help guys. I was following the manual exactly and was afraid to put the memory in a different position...

Haha nice. Try 1 in the second slot and the other in the fourth. You normally need to skip a slot for DDR RAM. If that doesnt work than just get an RMA on the RAM. No need for different RAM (its good, I use triple channel version) as long as it works.

Thanks for your help, see you in XIV

Right now the startup for windows 7 is sooo slow (probably from the memory...) and the video drivers failed, but I think I can get that working on my own by reinstalling/updating/etc.
