This show almost feels too realistic sometimes, I almost feel bad laughing at how depressing he makes his life seem. It is still hilarious though, well, the episodes that are supposed to be.

It works in his standup, he's great at standup, but the depressing tone and the way they are trying for a "Curb...thusiasm" style that I hate I stopped watching before last season ended.
like curb in the way they are given the main lines and then left to improv the timing and/or filler lines that ends with characters repeating themselves because they don't understand the timing, etc. Similar to why I didn't love The Other Guys movie, improv is rarely good imo,
I don't think the show is much like Curb at all aside from both being shot by a single camera. It's a tightly scripted, low budget, one man show. I love that the show is bold, ugly, realistic, and I wouldn't at all say autobiographical. Sure, there's elements of his life on the show, but it's an exaggeration of his life. It's a beautiful thing to have a show on the air that's not afraid to make these choices.
Yea, no idea where the curb comparison comes from. Yea they're both comedies that utilize the same point of view character, but otherwise...eh. Curb also never gets anywhere close to as serious or realistic as Louie has, I think you need to watch some more episodes (I like Curb, not trying to talk it down, just dont see em being the same).
Liked the Joan episode, was funny but gave interesting insight into struggles of being a comedian.
What an odd episode. Started kind of slow, but picked up.
im halfway through it right now and i thought it was pretty good O.o
I think the big rock star moment just seemed to go on forever for me, but I think it made a lot of sense in the context of the episode in hindsight.
that scene was fucking priceless man. it showed him being human and you KNOW you've done that before.
Who hasn't? Ha. When I reflected on the episode I thought it fit in nicely to the discussions of age and wisdom.

Just saw the first two episodes, and holy shit, when he's spanking the chick and she starts crying, I fucking lost it. One of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Got renewed for another season.
I'm amazed it's lasted this long. It's so good. I'm excited that they're going to keep going.
