Everyone on 1 chr increases social integration on the server, the difference between FFXI at least from the early days to 2007 and other MMOs was huge.

FFXI for the PS2 came out WAY before the PC...

they focused FFXI around the PS2 not the PC <insert PS2 limitations joke here>

This time around it was mentioned they are building FFXIV around the PC, I'm not surprised its a PC release first. (PS2 FFXI came out several MONTHS before the PC infact)

Did you fail 5th grade english or something? Simultaneous worldwide release =/= simultaneous ps3/PC release. A lot of us are disappointed it's two different times, but they never said ps3/PC would be the same release. It was assumed.

SE had issues convincing SCEA to release the Hard Drive considering how expensive it was. In Japan the Hard Drive came separately from FFXI and was even released before the game came out. By the time SCEA finally let them release the HDD (with FFXI bundled into it) they already had waited long enough and released it on the PC. They wanted to release FFXI on the PS2 as soon as possible they just couldn't because of those issues. As we all saw the same deal didn't happen for SCEE (Sony's Europe branch) and no PS2 release happened over there.

Another character is a mule. A retainer is something completely different and it'll let you bazaar items even when you're logged out and things like that.

They are simultaneously having a world-wide release for PC and PS3.

This does not imply PC and PS3 release at same time, but PC releases in all regions at the same time, and PS3 releases everywhere in the world at the same time.

Why the fuck would you buy a $300 GPU anyway? My $120 GPU runs everything just fine, I'm not trying to run playable benchmarks like Crysis. I'm trying to play a video game.

Anyway it's actually correct. It's a worldwide release for the PC and PS3. They didn't say the PC and PS3 will release together.
