Did Bakka with 2 Bst's, rdm/drk and at thf. One bst subbed /drk to stun -ga's & Tier IV's with the rdm. Both bst's had no merits in Call Pet, but we only used 2 Sheep Jugpets each. If Call Pet was down, we'd gravity Bakka and kite. Fight took about 10min.

Next time we go, gonna get both bst's to sub /drk and transfer hate to pets if it gets bad. Also did the flower NM and it's even easier. Just gotta watch out for Charm. 2/2 on the Axe

*update* Turned in first plate awhile back which took me to fame lvl2. Turned in 3 plates last night and was still fame 2; Just turned in two more plates (daychange) and those combined took me to fame 3. They were all good quality plates so it appears a fame level needs 4-5 turned in.

They do it often enough. We started with 0 hate and it was doing like ~15 damage. It took us 140 kills to get 5 abyssites and it was doing over 400 damage then. I can only imagine how much hate one would have after building up enough to get 630 exps on Tonberries.

It could be worse, they could use Everyone's Rancor.

As for The Soul of the Matter, I've been doing repeats this morning and it does seem that this quest grants an unusually large amount of fame compared to other repeats. The following put me at or just over rank 2 fame:

- Hope Blooms on the Battlefield
- Of Malnourished Martellos
- Rose on the Heath
- The Soul of the Matter x2
- Refuel and Replenish (Konschtat) x3

And the following put me at or just over rank 3 fame:
- The Soul of the Matter x3
- Refuel and Replenish (Konschtat) x2

Currently just into rank 4 after completing the following:
- The Soul of the Matter x2
- Refuel and Replenish (Konschtat) x1
- A Mightier Martello (Konschtat) x2

Needless to say I rescind my previous statement about Konschtat fame. It's definitely different than the other zones.

@Xanthe its probably the nature of "The Soul of the Matter" in that you can get multiple level responses. I suspect a good image is 2-3 fp; mediocre 1-2 fp; and poor image 0-1 fp. This might also carry over to Refuel/Mightier as you can get superior successes.

Either way; "The Soul of the Matter" seems the best way to get fame up right now.

Indeed. All of my pictures have been HQ, save one blurry shot (rank 2 -> 3). All martello quests have been moderate success save one unparalleled (rank 3 -> 4).

The easiest way I've found to get pictures is find a group already killing a NM and snap away. It's stupid easy and near risk-free. I found a BST duo killing Guimuave when I first started and finish off a camera on him, and found another group fighting Bakka when I was hunting for Martellos to refuel.

Who cares, the NM is a joke regardless.

Solo/duo it on a non-mage that doesn't have 1,600+ HP, then get back to me.

Edit: Not saying the NM is hard, but unless you can survive Mantle Pierce outright 100% of the time, winning it solo/duo on something like NIN, DNC, or THF is luck and nothing less.

i dont think we are really slacking in abyssea killing/nm killing since theres always 100+ people in there

and we are always 2-3 weeks before stuffs pop on our servers ; ;

Pearl, Ruby, Azure, Amber Lamps. Never had a problem building any light type quickly.

They were popping off Grudges at a decent rate, seemed like the large ones did it more often than the rest. We started off living through them easily (except me, because I was a fool and didn't clear hate before I went to the maw and ate a 1500 before we passed 295 exp/kill), near the end they were averaging 1700-2200 and dropping full hp galka wars in a single go.

Running out of range was more of a hassle than it typically is, not sure if it's a longer range because of the mob size, but it did seem to have a lower delay than average Tonberries. The fact they we had them spinning like tops didn't help either, since they'd occasionally change target and immediately Grudge.

Amber Lamps got annoying towards the end, we ended up with a ton of pop item chests for stuff we were capped on, but fewer time boxes. Didn't take any pick up people, just added mules as people left, had dds leaving off and on to dump merits. We called it after 5.5~ hours when the healer (dbox rdm and whm) got tired, I had 58 of the 103 min I entered with.

If people still care about Bakka, MNK/WAR RDM/SCH BRD/WHM drops it in ~4 minutes. Entry->exit used 7 min of visitant.. cruor meds recommended but probably not required since i still had most of my convert left at the end.

After opening up the first set of quests, you should just aim to clear everything once, and repeat the picture one to rank up.

As mentioned, get an NM someone is fighting and take pics of it at point blank for good shots.

If you want to save time in Abyssea, you can do one a day runs..

Its not the fastest way in terms of RL time, but would be in terms of time in Abyssea.

Yes but try being on a backwater server that doesn't know how to use a Martello. Konschtat is the only one that basically cock blocks you until you find one under 90%. It doesn't help that the Martellos regen. Had to use one > exit > wait 25min 3 times just to get that quest done, grr

Killed Bakka 3 times with brd rdm mnk.
Keep potions for a moments when he become a bitch and do something like paralyga -> bindga -> Silence Mantra -> ga III and wiping your shadows back to back. Ofc its possible to just camp -ga with stun ws but we wanted to do it fast. RDM was smart enough to run in for blizzaga IV to cut dmg. No neck :/

I have done 'The Soul of the Matter' 3 times now, including the obvious prerequisite quests and even a 'Refuel and Replenish' and I haven't got the Machine Outfitter to allow me to upgrade a Martello via 'A Mightier Martello.' Could it be fame related?

Do you need to get visitant status to complete quests?

The "you have 5 minutes to get visitant status" could be used to quickly refuel a Martello - then exit, wait til next game day and repeat - if it's allowed. This way you won't have to waste stone time...

Wiki lists that as fame lvl 3 in konschtat. I cant flag it at level 2.
