For the servers with Tonberries up, has anyone noticed them depopping (or not repopping after being killed)? Same question goes for any other mob set that isn't always up (wyverns, wyrms, corses, weepers)...
I was thinking today that it's kind of weird for a bunch of mobs to have a pop condition - and once they're up, they stay up til server reset.
I'm wondering if there is some sort of "upkeep" required to keep these mobs up...
For instance, the Peiste NM might pop Wyverns or something... Eccentric Eve might pop Tonberries... Maybe one kill of the NM will keep the mobs up for say 72 hours or so... anyone able to comment on this?
No Tonberries yet on Alexander - not sure what the reason is - but Alexander is usually pretty bad at getting things done... so it could very well be related to one of the tougher NMs.
Once popped, nothing has depopped on our server. Phoenix just got Tonberries, and in an hour, they were all VT >< Needless to say, every spawn point is camped atm.
Was fighting them last night on Valefor. No one else was there, repops were normal and quick. 0/20+ for abyssite on my pulls. :[ They were mostly still Tough from what I saw. People don't tend to fight them in groups bigger than 2~3 though.
IDK if it's the exact cause, but we killed Eve x3 last night, then Tonberries popped tonight (dunno on exact pop time, but we were made aware of them about ~28hrs after eve, 24hrs is definitely within the window).
Not really enough to say for sure, but it's definitely possible from my PoV.
Interestingly enough, my next project for coding is building a user interface for spellcast, allowing you to just click and make the macro sets and then the program assembles the script all together in a nice neat package for you.
I still have a bit more learning to do with editting xml in Visual Basic however, but I hope to be ready to start working on it soon :D
But thats for another topic~
On topic: I know there was mention of blinding the pieste boss to prevent its gaze move, but what about having the tank blinded to prevent it? I could have sworn I read somewhere blindness prevents any gaze attack yes? Or am I totally wrong on that count?
We've killed 4 Lacovies so far, and i am pretty sure some JP shells on the server have too(which would probably be linked to the currently missing antlions).
So either you have to do X number of kills in a row within a set time frame or maybe X kills total? Do you know other LSs that spam that NM also? Or it's all just unrelated D:
Well each boss may corrospond to a different group. Lacovie was killed pretty early on for most servers, so that could be the cause of Wyrms, Corses, or something else.
Antilons may be related to Glavoid or Chloris since they arent killed as much, but since both have been killed on our server recently, I guess it's worth a check. I'll do an APradar scan tonight.
Lottery? I thought everyone found Gangly Gean up first day.
Wasn't Eccentric Eve one of the first confirmed boss kills, at least on BG? And isn't it easier to farm because no road block NM like Glavoid preventing you from farming partial sets.
The Glavoid thing and Antlions does make a lot of sense though, because afaik you guys are only people to kill thus far, which would explain the Antlions long absence.
Depends if we're talking about; only needing 1 kill, a lot of kills, or set # of pops within a certain time frame for a mob family to pop. If it's just 1 kill i think we would have seen a lot of these mob families sooner, especially tonberries, if its linked to Eve. Which would leave the latter to be tested.
I obviously have no proof, was just saying if you wanted to say 24 hrs later, it -could- have worked on Midgard. No idea if anyone besides us killed Eve, and it'd be pretty hard (and nearly pointless) to try to test/confirm at this point anyway.
Also, I think you guys are overthinking SE's procedures, if it is related, I'd say it's a "drop", aka, X% chance to unlock the mob family on each kill. Ya know, like WOE apparently, lol.
But ya, Eve was the first zone boss killed. All 3 upper tier LaTheine NMs were killed really early by us as well though (well before Opos first appeared). So, IF it is related, ya, I'd say chance on kill or maybe X #of kills. It's definitely not 1 kill.
Pavan pop on Ramuh, was by the wyverns.
Brought it under Turul but nothing happen.
Killed it by Turul and still no dice.
no key item either.

Was found near wyverns. We dragged it under/killed it under Turul and nothing happened.
interesting..
so the theory that Pavan is Garuda is sound..
doest drop anything right?
i'm still almost certain its linked to Turul, even if the aggro/link theory has been disproven..
there must be something you need to do with Pavan that triggers Turul...
We killed two, neither dropped any abyssite or anything of the sort. Also, tonberries havn't popped on Ramuh yet.
Pulled another Pavan under turul and fought for about 5-10mins, thinking it may Aerial Blast but again, nothing.
Got random temp item when i killed (deadalus wing)
Spoiler: show
Hopefully killing enough will cause it to agro.
Maybe that is how la theine works and enough need to be killed for it to spawn/agro
Bird and Bhumi might share a similar relationship except people have been killing bhumi for abyssite for a long while.
