You overestimate it. The amount of guesswork that goes into these maps is obvious once you've dropped the cruor on an in-game map.

I guess you don't understand how copyrighting works. The thing i copyright is quite obviously my original work - that being my chart - its design, layout, arrangement, the way info is presented and so on.

I've never claimed to have tested all the info I gather before listing it, but I do try where possible and also get them from verifiable accounts, which I scour from here, wiki and various japanese sites.

Though i may not personally produce most of the info in my charts, the value I add to them is in gathering, sorting and displaying the info in as simple, organized and coherent a form as possible.

There definitely is guesswork in these maps, like area cutoff for mob families but they are at least precise enough to be functionally useful. and I have been correcting them over time. There is a limit to this because even at 2x the size of the original map file, I find difficulty squeezing info in some places.

It's actually rather tedious working around with the few hundred layers in photoshop files when I compile charts like these. Tedious but fun for me. I enjoy it more than playing the game sometimes. So its not like i'm just stealing info, pretending its my own and doing nothing special.

Anyway, I never expected such a positive response from these charts but if people like them I'm naturally happy.

The first charts I made were for my own benefit, but nowadays its for everyone elses and I'm not asking for anything in return other than say 'try to give me traffic'.

Did you legitally copyright a map you made of an online videogame? Or is it like Share-Alike or Some Reserved Rights or something like that?

I've come to the conclusion that unless you intend to be using full copyright or No Derivatives, just fuck it XD

Not first action in the sense of having to actually claim the tonberry, just aggroing works. Had a tonberry pop and aggro my dual boxed brd, followed by me punching to claim, him sleeping while I finished the 1st one. When the aggroed one died, he got the abyssite and I know for a fact he never slept any links before I punched or Chi'd. So if you just run in aggro them all and then sleep them and kill them one by one, the sight aggroer should get the abbyssite.

We had a MNK in our alliance that had the BRD facepull/aggro the tonberries for her. She auto-attacked when they got to camp. MNK got the abyssite after 2 mobs. So maybe it works both ways.

Tonberry's have seemed to finally pop up on Shiva. Killed about 15 of em but no drop yet of the key item.

Didn't see this mentioned, but it makes getting fame in the zone super easy. For pictures for The Soul of the Matter quest, the T1 VNM works fine. And it can be easily slept or soloed by mostly any job. I easily slept it for 12 pictures on BLM, without it resisting any debuffs. And it was also hitting me for nothing on PLD, and seemed to have poor accuracy since it was missing my BLM and PLD sometimes without blind/flash. So I would guess mostly any job should be able to solo it and take pictures. Just remember the annoying action block that follows taking a picture.

The hardest part of repeating the quest is the 1 per game day limitation and getting enough free inventory slots for all the gauger plates. But as mentioned earlier, it lets you also do the martello quest, which should let you cap fame with fewer plates as well.
