Nice drops, plus confirmation of Augur coming from Abyssea.
Nice drops, plus confirmation of Augur coming from Abyssea.
And then there was 1.
so sexy.
How hard was the fight?
I am sorry to ask instead of go looking for myself but... anybody here from Carbuncle knows if Tonberries already popped here?.
Yesterday I was told they hadn't popped yet, and I don't want to spend Abyssea time to go check out for myself. Apologies in advance.
While we are at it, are popping conditions of these (and other) mobs discovered? Do you guys know if they will repop after a server maintenance?
We killed 3 Eve and 1 kukulkan the day before they popped on phoenix, dunno if that had anything to do with it.

He was a joke, although I almost killed myself on his blaze spikes before the mages got there. >_> Can't dispel them, they did about 50 per proc to me without Phalanx/Barfire procs. Casts various high level fire magic. Never used Everyone's Grudge, Everyone's Rancor, or even Throat Stab, although I'm sure he can.
Well testing the Gean/Turul connection is going to be a bit of a challenge given that Gean is almost never up now.
Does anyone know exactly how many kills on saplings it takes before the Treant spawns? Is it like an expedited lottery or an old fashioned timesink of kills?
I am tempted to buy a pop for Siranpa-Kamuy, the other treant in the zone but Gean seems awfully close to Turul much like Fistule/Guimuave are close to eachother.
Perhaps other servers have Gangly Gean lying around and care to drag the tree under the Amphiptere?
Pavan-Wind-fem, Turul-Bird-blah blah thing with a dream
tl;dr don't even try to do anything with a treant, it's pretty obvious that Pavan(wind) and Amphiptere(bird), Akash(space) and Ovni(UFO), as well as Bhumi(earth) and idkname(antlion) have to do with each other. In the legends Turul is mentioned at least twice to shape the fate of the Hungarians: the first time Emese, mother of Álmos, wife of Ügyek (whose ancestor is Attila the Hun) had a dream where a Turul appeared, impregnated her symbolically and a crystal-clear water stream started to flow from her, and as it moved Westward, it grew into a great river, which meant that her child was going to be the father of a line of great rulers.
In Hinduism, the 3 avatar names represent 3 elements, the same elements the 3 NMs have in the zones.
How to get them to actually aggro, come down/up, and whatever else however is unknown, or what effect the avatars need for it to happen. Stop wasting your time on useless things unless you like posting more stuff about how a pudding didn't aggro a fucking Amphiptere.
Edit: No, Gean is nowhere close to the Amphiptere. It hovers around over Bugards, not where it shows on maps. If you've seen it differently, that's another reason why it can't be Gean to bring it down.
Why are you so sure of yourself? I mean, there's no obvious correlation between the two but there hardly needs to be. It's not like it's a difficult to test theory, get off your high horse.
Except I didn't ask anything about the Avatars or the their possible connection to the 3 NMs. I specifically asked about testing dragging a treant NM under Turul since a poster mentioned the mythology directly ties Turul to a tree.
Instead of raging about a hypothesis that you yourself have not disproved perhaps you'd learn to read instead of writing off theories that are grounded in sense. Fistule and Guimauve are connected to eachother so it isn't a huge fucking logical leap to assume that you need one NM (Gean or Siranpa) in order to agro another.
The "Turul" is a giant mythical falcon, a messenger of god in Hungarian mythology, who sits on top of the tree of life along with the other spirits of unborn children in the form birds.
There are two Treant NMs in the zone so unless you happen to test both and both fail to agro the NM then the above guess is ahead of the Pavan connection which has not agrroed the Amphiptere.
You haven't disproved anything and your comment about the Bugards still puts Turul close to Siranpa-Kamuy.
tl;dr - Disprove the theory or GTFO.
theres definitely no certainty, but the likelihood that theres a relation is far lower than with Pavan, especially since the Pavans are an anomaly as much as Turul is. and the fact that the mythological elements line up so nicely cannot be a coincidence too.
SE loves to make people draw connections using lore to solve in-game mysteries..
If Pavan is linked to Turul, this wouldnt be the first time, really.
edit:
Fistule and Guimauve are linked because of their mob superfamily.. no?
you could also go with the Tree theory but in that case the Tree NM should have been named something that links it with the mythology, instead of a normal tree NM name..
so.. the likelihood is higher in the case of the avatar-NM rather than another NM..
and also because the NMs seem to have related pairs in the other 2 zones.
The only unsolved NMs in LaTheine are those very same 2 avatar-NMs.. and you could pretty much say the same for Tahrongi, except with the odd Quetzalli, for which we don't even know is related or not.
Has anyone managed to low-man Balaur with any success?
What about getting the Avatars to 2hr under the mob? Has anyone tried that?
Someone should make a shop of an ebon panel with garuda wings and the name Pavan over it or something. lol
Cryptonberries are up on Cerberus, havent seen Liege yet however
