I've only seen Tonberry Lieje once here on Alexander, and he was just sitting there unclaimed with no one around. After we killed it we checked repeatedly over the course of several hours and it never repopped, even taking turns camping the spot for 20 minutes at a time. Maybe this NM is more like Ix'DRG and just pops whenever it fucking wants to off its placeholders. =(

Hello, I was wondering if anyone understood how the Abyssite drop from Pavan (and Bhumi) works? Is it just a random %? I've killed Pavan about 10 times now to no avail. Just confirming that it doesn't require some sort of special activity to drop so I don't blow tons of Traverser Stones. thanks

It is indeed random. I think you'll have better luck with the Ephemeral's for Konschtat, though. Could just be my experience.

Wiki says it's only the initial agro who can get abyssite from kill. If you already knew that nm.

I just joined a Kulkulkan shout, and the leader only has 1 pop item. Is it possible to get the other 2 and then rush to kill Kulkulkan within a 90 minute time limit? I'm having my doubts.

Sure, if the NMs were a 100% Convert rate. But they aren't, so it isn't unless you're very lucky.

Does anyone have a strategy on fighting Hadal Satiator?

Killed this yesterday using our alliance we had setup for turul. The nm itself didn't seem to have many hps and we used mostly SMNs for dmg with a couple SAM's. We had 1 person assigned to diaga the "shadow" mobs it pops and kite them away. Do not kite them to the nearest conflux and use it, they will go back and agro your alliance. Just kite them across the zone and eventually they will give up and depop. We only had him pop the shadow mobs once and otherwise was a very very very easy fight. The 2 blms we had stunned -ga III's which were few and far between. I was actually shocked how easy the nm was, I have no doubt you can do it with 6 with some practice. augur's legs: O

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but the Tier 2 VNM here is soloable in under an hour I'd bet.

Strategy (RDM/NIN, bring Echo drops and get all the buffs you can):
* Popped it, ran it towards the Conflux 5 hill.
* Poison II, Bio II, Tier 4 back if he Tier 4s you, but be aware that he has Fast Cast. His -aga IIIs hurt, but aren't fatal even without a MDT set. Just keep taking him around the hill. There's no real reason he should ever land an -aga III on you, but try to keep Stoneskin up anyway.
* At 65-75%, he will switch from the -aga III/Tier 4 mode to Status-ga spamming. I didn't see Paralyga, just Slowga, Poisonga II, Graviga, and Silencega.
* Take him to Conflux 5. This is a pin spot, so pin him.
* Kill him like any other pinned monster. Use echo drops when you get silenced if you want to speed the fight up, otherwise wait you cheapskate.

Things that can go wrong:
-- Graviga as the first status spell he casts on you after hitting 65%. He isn't a particularly fearsome foe (hit me for ~150 with -25% PDT), but if you're gravitied and he's beating on you it can get rough. I survived this when I wasn't expecting it, but I was only 90 degrees away from the conflux and had a near-full bar of MP. Just tough it out.

So, those of you who know me also know that I'm entirely not geared for solo on RDM. I was just bored today and decided to do Abyssea VNMs. I have no doubt that this can be done much more efficiently and safely than I did. I'd also like to note that my attempt was not technically a solo. A BLM friend in zone came and helped knock off a few thousand HP, though I kept hate the vast majority of the time (I think it turned to the BLM twice and hit him once while it was being pinned). I assume any solo attempt would be the same, just slower. Also, I forgot to infuse Atma because I wasn't seriously expecting to fight anything. I just wanted to go die to Turul and pick up my Abyssite, but VNM caught my fancy.

Do you kite it or straight tank it? Straight tanking seemed to have some bad results, he just spammed shit non stop. And if you kite it, is there a preferable place that makes it easier? Like a pinning spot or something?

depends on #'s...inb4 having 15-18 ppl for turul but thats what my first fight with it was like, we just SC/MB and straight tanked it with little difficulty.

Turul: Use SMN damage, RDM tanks work decently if you nuke for hate, or can kite around the mountain near khalamari. I'd say a 6man group of RDM RDM SMN SMN SMN SMN can kill it in <90 min, <45min if your smns have stout arm and you straight tank.
