Well, went out and tested Diabolos rq (Nether Blast should be static damage?). 582 without Atma, 705, 705 with Atma (30 MAB). Pretty conclusive that atma affects pet.
Yep, Nether Blast should be static damage. Awesome. Makes me wonder if avatars are also enhanced through the Cruor Prosector's enhancement effects. Since Carbuncle's Meteorite and the Tier 4 spells for each avatar are related to the avatar's INT, we should be able to see an increase here as well. They could be enhanced even moreso with Scarlet Abyssite of Furtherance.
Also, Atma of Gales (Alkonost) just went up a rung on the priority list. Not if only I could get a single atma to drop...
just straight tanked it. you wanna wedge your tank(s) into a corner so you don't get knocked back all the way across the map. since we wanted to trigger atma we got tp on the wivres nearby. stuns for aga iv, keep attackers distanced, blah blah.
Eh, those are generally "wind magic accuracy" and "wind magic attack". Unless you're just trying to buff Wind Blade for some reason? It's not going to be a Predator Claws buff afaik. And, I was trying to think of a good/easy way to test the stats, but it sounded like a lot of effort to confirm.
Yes, I was thinking Wind Blade specifically. Garuda's pretty easy to make cheap for TPing.
Briareus' or Eve's atma would be better for Predator Claws.
As for the stats, that should be fairly easy. Although Bloodpacts are considered weaponskills, avatar magic is still calculated fairly similarly to normal black magic:
Take a friend with sleep, grab a mob.
Test Meteorite/Tier4 in a SMN skill build (to reduce chances of resistance).
Have your friend sleep the mob, go back to camp and get an INT/MND/CHR enhancement.
Try the Bloodpact again with the enhancement.
Unless something has changed in the last few days, or SMN works different than PUP, OR the stat boosts just dont show up, the stats you get from Cruor guy do not boost pet. Very easy to check as a PUP, as you can see their base attributes through the menu. I checked this pretty quick after release, as we were hoping to boost our pet damage on the NMs. I have never seen the +10-20 INT stat boost or the HP/MP boosts I get for myself given to my puppet. I am not sure about Atma though, but again, have a PUP check with the stat screen.
This pretty much, We used PLD/PLD/WHM/WHM/RDM/BRD (could swap one of the WHM for a COR) in the tank PT, have tanks opposite ends of Turul. A couple of rangers, and two SAM/THF with appropriate support in other parties. TA/WS to help with hate (the amount of magic damage tanks are going to take even with a capped MDT/MDB set is amazing). Take one of your RDM sub DRK to stun Thunder V it casts to heal its self. Have SAM run in to SATA/WS and keep them out if they start taking excessive damage. Rangers to damage consistently from a distance (sub DRG is ok for hate control, or give them a THF for accomplice should they choose to go /WAR or /SAM).
Rangers do really well against this mob, no damage resistance.
Should take it down in about 15-25 mins without much of a problem. The only real problem this fight brings is Calamtious Wing.
The best way to test would be to have an injured pet, get HP bonus and see if they get fulled healed.
not both, one should be behind and one stuffed in the corner (if you have two tanks). that's how we did it anyway, was just explaining where they would go if you risked only bringing one tank to lower the # of people. never said anything about putting two tanks next to each other, sorry if my grammar was in any way misleading lol
Is it possible that you have to Activate your automaton AFTER you receive the buff in order to make use of it? Its possible the enhancement won't extend if your pet is already summoned. Which buggy shit such as this occurs with pets quite often, like when avatars summoned in a Promyvion would still be level capped even when you left the capped area (pre-update).
Actually... Do +Stats even show up anywhere on the automaton's stat menu?
I thought about that after posting this morning, and thought that may be the case. However, I DAD my puppet during Abyssea NM runs to shed hate off the mage frame after big nukes. The stat boosts still dont show up, and I check the stat screen before DADing to make sure puppet is at exactly 100% HP. And +10 to a stat I would notice quickly.
And yeah, the +Stats show up on their menu. When a PUP uses a maneuver, the puppet gets a bonus to the corresponding stat (like Thunder gives puppet DEX boost), and those boosts show up in the menu.
I would not put it past SE to maybe have it boosted, but not show up. However, the puppet's max MP and HP do not fluctuate, so I am inclined to say that it does not effect puppet. Again, this is all based on PUP. I will have to check the Regain atma on puppet. If it gives the regain to puppet, that will be quite incredible when paired with Tactical Switch.
**Edit The boosts I am mentioning are Cruor only. I havent played with Atma as PUP yet.
How about an automaton in Project: Shantottofication? Do the stat boosts show up in the menu there?
Really late, as I tested it a long time ago, but the HP buff does indeed heal an avatar to full, implying it is benefiting from that as well. No idea on PUP shit...
I was always under the impression that pets gain boosts from atma but not cruor buffs.
Ok, well I just checked this.
Cruor Buffs:
I activated Nutcracker before getting the buffs and then equipped gear to increase his HP and MP, so he would not be full. After getting the HP and MP buffs, it did indeed heal him to full, but his max values remained the same. The INT buffs did not show up either. So, either they get the buffs but they are hidden, or getting the HP/MP buffs are just an easy way to fill up the pets HP/MP quickly? Not sure. I will have to do some further testing using the WHM bot to cure itself and see if a Cure 5 cast heals it for more HP than it has. It is really the only way I can think of to see if the effect is purely hidden.
Atma:
I equipped Voracious Violet, and sure enough, Nut was regaining. Oddly enough, whether it was lag or something else, he was one tick behind me. I always had 2 TP more. Not a huge deal, but I found it funny. He also showed the +50 STR in his menu. So, this leads me to believe that maybe they dont get the stat boosts from cruor, since this one showed up. Who knows! Hope this is semi helpful
Ticks (for Helices, Dia, etc. - likely including Meditate and other regain effects) are calculated based on the time a mob was initially spawned an area, and for popped mobs, it is recalculated every time. Pets likely work the same way. I'm pretty sure PCs are all on a synchronized clock, however. This may account for the difference.
