I'm thinking a lot of mob families ninja-spawning are related to total kills or some other factor in each zone. Seems like every zone has a couple of these?
One of my LS mates reported seeing an Amphiptere in Abyssea Konschtat, but didn't say where.
it might just be a server record that runs even after maintenance.. just like how conquest tally and campaign progress work
but its a good thing too.. the pieces are all falling together now
What I find very off is that in Abyssea - Konschtat there are literally 0 repeatable quests accessible with level 1 fame (actually there are none at all) aside from the Martello one, but lets not kid ourselves.
I would not be surprised if you had to pull yet another NM under the Amphiptere for it to come down and agro.
i ran by him just now too..
in between rafflesia and funguar..
i suspect progress in Konschtat will be pretty slow until more people start going there and killing stuff because it doesnt seem to have squishies where u can do endless parties...
Ab'xzomit are not on Ragnarok yet.. no sign of wyverns or tonberry either.. tho I've noticed there's always been a sturdy pyxis near tonberry's pop area... (at least the few times I ran there...) 2nd time got me a mimic that raped me silly
Could it be so simple as to kill the mimic to pop the tonberries? Or was the chest real on the other occasion you went up there? If the chest is always there, it could have some correlation with popping them. Not saying it does, but could be worth investigating further.tho I've noticed there's always been a sturdy pyxis near tonberry's pop area... (at least the few times I ran there...) 2nd time got me a mimic that raped me silly
well a mimic chest pops there. not in the same position tho...
i didn't check it the first time cos I didnt wanna risk it. 2nd time i traded a forbidden key but it popped the mimic immediately.
If a mimic is always in that area, it might give us a clue as to how to get both tonberry families to start appearing
So, since Fistule last time was the last key item we needed, and now that we're done with the fight...Eccentric Eve was a pushover. It was a purple malboro, as expected. The fight took about 20 minutes with 18 and a few people to sub in. We only had 3 melee deaths, 2 of which were to ebb. It was far easier than fistule or kukulkan.
It uses Thousand Spikes (400-1000 aoe damage, blocked by 3 shadows), Drain whip (drains hp or mp, up to about 250ish), Tainted breath (cone? charm that transforms the victim into a malboro, blocked by fealty), Bad breath (full aoe, normal status effects, about 250 dmg), and Extremely Bad Breath, which we didn't see until under 25%. It did not use sweet breath, so poison doesn't seem necessary, and with charm would be ill advised.
There's a convenient hill next to the pop spot for the mages. DD and blms reported that she was squishy to melee and magic. Since it was tame, we tried a ton of different weaponskills, skillchains, and spells, but didn't get a !! on it. Its attack can have various debuffs as an added effect. I saw silence, amnesia, and paralyze. It seemed to resist slow, but was susceptible to paralyze and stun. Only the first EBB got through, and killed 2 melees, as our tank was charmed, so we got in a backup tank and were fine.
No key item on the kill, title Eccentricity Expunger. It dorpped Senshin Hachimaki (GAxe) and Danzo Sune-ate. 4750 xp, 1150 cruor.
nice. its good to know the zone boss isnt a crazy mofo unlike past SHNMs like AV and PW
Just came across Ab'xzomits and NM Khalamari while on the way to Conflux #3. They were just up when we got there. They were on the borderline of E-7/E-8 wandering about. We didn't try to fight any of the normal xzomit, but I did want to see what the NM was like. We had WHM/SCH BRD/WHM and SAM/WAR(myself).
Fight didn't see bad. He has a move called Mantle Pierce that seems to be the main trouble with his fight. It went through third eye and did 1.1k damage when it first used it on me. I noticed it had somewhat of a longer charge time, so I decided to run away from the next one I saw. I took 0 damage and received a weight effect instead. I did the same on the next one, and received the same result. Therefore, either my Shadow Mantle proc'd twice in a row, or running away from this move makes it do 0 damage. I'll admit it could still be the former. I don't have much experience fighting regular ones and it seems these moves are available to all mobs of this family as well. Having a stunner for this move would be good especially if it ignores shadows as well.
Unfortunately I was unable to test further as I died on the fight with almost no time left on visitant status. It got me when I tried to self-chain with Sengikori and thus I used berserk for the skillchain. I was unable to run during Kaiten's long WS animation and it one-shotted me for 1848 damage.
Other than his Mantle Pierce move, he had Ink Cloud (conal, blind debuff) and Siphon Discharge, which just seemed to do conal water damage and I think added an undispellable Enwater effect to his attacks.
Hope this helps. He didn't seem hard, if we had time to reraise and try again I'm sure we could have trio'd it with what we had.
Spoiler: show
Hey, went in to Konschtat for the first time tonight to explore, unlock teleports etc. Raskovnik was up and we decided to kill it(Long story short killed it with a little trouble, 8 people, got Cavaros Mantle Yay!)
However...
While kiting an pissed off plant and 7 recently turned mindless Botaniphiles, I noticed an Amphiptere in the sky around (F-7) right next to the wall between the Rafleshia and the Funguars.
Anyone else see it? Anyone got any info per chance?
Read up a few posts about the dragon. Nobody knows how to aggro it.
I swear I'm not that dumb lol. I had the page open form yesterday morning, so in my defense there was no mention of the Amphiptere until I posted...
