Alternatively go in, kill 7 Meanderer's to cap Pearl Lights in 10 minutes, then go find some Ephemerals to cap Amber light. Shouldn't take long. Then just find a squishy mob that doesn't give Azure OR Ruby (depending on your method of pewpew, I did mine on BLM) and kill those to farm chests.
For fighting Turul duo I suggest MNK+RDM and fight it at rock where are Martello and chests with gauger plates(g-5). For make it easy to proc blue !! its good to have monarch and VV atma. Lets RDM kite till you have 100TP then go WS it (ofc its not necessarily especially on h2h WSes, its just cleaner). If you take hate just let RDM nuke it and heals you for hate. After procing blue !! you can straight fight it till spikes or till hate reset move (if spikes you kite if hate reset then RDM kite till you get hate back). You can also kite it if you low on hp or if he makes that knock-back aura.
Usually what we do when we fight Turul we have 1 MNK/NIN 1 RDM/DRK 1 WHM. MNK has victory smite and can hold hate decently(until hate reset of course.) RDM/DRK to stun the thunder spells he casts on himself. If he gets a thunder off on himself the spikes tend to last for about a minute and the damage from the spikes seems to vary depending on whether or not its a thunder IV or thunder V. Pretty much the RDM is stunning the whole time while the mnk procs blue on it. The fight gets really messy the more people you throw at it obviously. If you're going to wipe to it for whatever reason hes a joke to kite so you can pretty much just hold it while people are home pointing and get set up again after hes done going apeshit.
Anyone have any experience with Arimaspi? How much HP it's adds have and etc? Planning on killing it a bunch soon ._.
My friend did it as RDM/NIN BLMx2 and just kite it around. He stops fairly frequently to cast. Once his summons pop, RDM can diaga > kite till hate is lost while BLMs keep working on main one. I think BLM went /NIN as well, but not sure. Tried killing summons once when we just winged it and they are pretty easy solo for any DD/NIN.
We just fought a bunch of these as a Blu + Whm. iirc the mob has a native magic resistance that makes it drag on... phyical blu spells worked really really good. Worth noting, the summons return to where they were summoned. I solo'd it on blu while the whm kited adds off to the conflux, and I alternated between two kill zones so the adds had a place to go. Also worth noting, it cannot summon more adds if there are some still out, and they despawn almost immediately after they reach their starting point.
This fight can be stupid annoying btw, good luck.
My static lost it's thf recently, so we've just been doing Turul as war/thf, whm/rdm, and rdm/whm. Whm just cures through the dmg as I trigger, Rdm kites if I need to warp out and change to sam or nin or w/e for the trigger. Use VV RR Dread (sad replacement for a thf, but still th3), macro in -mdt when it's needed.
It dies so fast after the trigger that there's no real danger from the spikes, whm can just cure through and it's dead in a couple Ukkos. Even when triggers have been shitty (building tp with a club sucks) the whm just converts or uses the martello while the Rdm heals.
Anyone else having trouble with the quest Full-of-himself Alchemist? Whenever I try to talk to Julio, he just said something like, "Heh heh heh! I could make these soothing potions all day!" and nothing happens when I trade him the 3 purple polypores.
I have the quest in my log, but I can't seem to do anything with it; I've tried zoning as well.
Buh, that info I posted was at Lv85 with 2 sets of Abyssites. Now with 3 sets of Abyssites (Gold, Blue and Pearl), it would seem it takes less kills to cap lights. Also as we are Lv90 now, the mobs in Visions zones when being solo'd should be popping around EM-T. Either way, I did all that when I was doing my Varuna's staff on Wyverns. I'd go in, kill a bunch of Meanderer's with nuke > nuke > dot kill (or melee kill) til my pearl was roughly capped, then start working on Wyverns. I wasn't concerned about Azure because I'd be naturally getting those, but by locking in the Varuna's staff, BLM gets TP from nukes. Once I got 100 TP, off to find another Meanderer/Ephemeral and kill it with Amber. Once your Azure is high enough, you start getting TP chests which make the process a lot quicker, but the one thing that slows you down is finding the damned Meanderer/Ephemerals (which usually gather South of Conf#2, North of Conf#4, North of Conf#5 and near the Sods Limule/Mushrooms/Rafflesias which is in the center of Conf#2/4/5). When I did mine, there were always Ephs up at Wyverns, Efts, Saplings and Imps.
I'd imagine with 0 Abyssites, it'd take about 10 kills on Meanderer's to cap Pearl, 5 with Abyssites. Ephemeral levels change, so if they follow the same rule as the ones in Scars zones, about 10 of those to cap Amber, but if you're varying between mobs, 20-25 is a good bet with lights. Probably 10 Meanderer's may cap your amber, idk... They are easy to kill anyway.
Again, not done this since I got my Varunas done there, nor since the level increase. And as an FYI, the VNM1 Elementals in Heroes zones are nasty bastards but 4 of those will cap pearl. :D
I believe 10 emphereals will cap your chosen light.
The dark elemental isnt too bad, the worst it can do is sleep you, but generally yea, stay away from the t1 vnms in heroes zones. holy shit at the grav aura from wind...
I dont know why, but the fire/light limule in Kon is extremely stingy on pearl light. I think I killed maybe 15, and 3 or 4 gave light.
