Do they not lose chain because they're out of xp range?
If this is true, one would expect that you could NM farm with a party while the other part of the alliance farms xp/gold chests.
So, does anyone know Spawn/Despawn conditions for Ephemeral Limules and stuff? I'm really confused by them, but ~24 hrs from last depop, 1 I've been tracking still has not repopped.
They tend to spawn around where people have been killing things, and what kind pops might be related to what kind of mob is being killed.
I ask BSTs and RNGs to widescan for me before I enter and tell me if/where they are. Then I kill them for ~1k XP while running around questing. Most of the time, the Limule I kill is down south by the Blood Bat camp and the Clionid is north by the Mandies.
Well, they seem to have static areas (well, according to ApRadar). I've seen the same type in the same general area. I'm not sure if you're suggesting they pop across the map or whatever though.
But ya, I'm 100% sure the Clionid by Cuelebre hasn't popped in 24hrs. Yesterday, I killed it once while waiting for Cuelebre to spawn, early AMish, then saw it up again after Cuelebre died. I pulled it out of the dragons, cast drain on it once, then it depopped like instantly at 93%. ApRadar still now shows it in the exact same spot it depopped me at 93%, so unless someone else did the exact same thing, ya, 24hrsish and no pop (but did back to back pops like 10-15min apart or w/e).
Really odd, to me. Doesn't really matter to me personally as I have both abyssites from Tahrongi, but I was curious if anyone had more information.
They lose aggro very easily and it can be annoying at times. I had one casting Freeze on me which I stunned, and then a couple seconds later started casting Blizzaga III.
Anyhow, I often see them up around Chukwa as well. Could be people killing turtles for lights, or maybe just killing Chukwa is enough to get them to spawn.
Killed 3 tonight learning to melée solo on rdm/nin. First one was at the bat camp and it was water element. Gave a temp item mana powder. Second was at the Mandy camp it was thunder element and it was up within 15 mins of the last one dying, it dropped clear salve II temp item. Third one was at the bat camp again and was up within 4 minutes of the other dying and was fire element. It dropped a temp item tp wing.
First kill was magic kill and I got azure light, second was standard melée kill and I got no light, third was ws kill and I got ruby light.
Hope this helps.
I have read a lot in this forum and have yet to see this theory. I am usually afraid to post in here cause a lot of people can get very critical really fast. So keep an open mind and if I missed a similar post forgive me. This is a personal theory that I have yet to see anyone discuss or bring up.
The NM Iratham whom no one has discovered information leading to its spawning condition is believed to eventually be discovered in Abyssea-Tahrongi from what I have heard. The quest in Abyssea-Tahrongi's "Bringing down the mountain" states that to complete the quest you need to turn in 50 "Gunpowder Swathe's." These as stated by the quest npc to cut through rocks and are to assist the npc alongside the eastern portion of the zone mountains.
Has anyone thought that if enough players complete this quest it will unleash the NM? Or have significance beyond a simple quest completion? Just a thought. I would like to know anyone else's view on this.
Wouldnt put it past SE. There are quite a few NMs and families that have just popped on their own, so we dont know if they were timed spawns, killing certain familes, killing certain NMs a number of times, etc.
Like, on Phoenix, Tonberries popped the day AFTER we killed eve and KKK a few times. Probably coincidence, but who knows.
I still think antlions and turul/etc will just appear on their own in a week or 2, before scars .
Could be, but how many people are going to bother, especially knowing it gives nothing initially? It took over a month for me to get curious enough to bother, who's going to do it just because it might do something special the second/third/50th time? And if they do, what're the chances they're on Leviathan/etc? :\
If a linkshell is curious enough to do it, it takes ~3 hours with TH4 to farm 50 swathes while exping on qutrub. You could knock out 3-4 a day while getting jobs done.. they aren't even terrible exp mobs. Just be careful about moving up, since they don't sleep or lullaby.
Not seeing the correlation, and don't think it was very many eyeballing BG ;x
