Thanks for suggesting what people had already done since the NM appeared.

No one smart would have suggested using PLDs on an easy mob like this. We tried it as soon as we saw it dropped Serpentes, and was using SAM/NIN's to tank it (gosh, what a new and exotic way to do things). Guess what, it wasn't because of you.

There are a lot of shitty posters here, where many of them still seem to think you need 5 PLDs and a full alliance for all these NMs. Stating the obvious to these people does not mean you 'came up' with anything, it just makes you the guy walking the old ladies across the street.

I actually came up with sam + rdm strategy a day before abyssea came out. FUCK YA WINNAAARRR

Has anyone tried using Souleater zerg on Abyssea NMs? I'm curious to know if it would work against Usurper.

Why bother? Real meleex3 + COR + DNC +BRD with only BRD 2h and fanatics powder downs it. Don't say no real melee, DRK can equip a scythe.

Would Perfect Defense get the job done? Don't have Fanatic's Powders handy and PUG abyssea groups brand you a traitor if you open red chests with amber light in them, lol.

Yeah, I'd like to do it Dynamis Lord style and see how it goes. I don't see any obvious problem with it, but just wanted to run it by you guys in case I was missing something obvious.

To go back to this, we just did Chloris again Tuesday and this one was MUCH easier. We used a solo tank with a second one out of range, flashing/JAing for hate, but the main tank really never lost hate. We had a Shadowbind rotation set up for everytime the NM used Hundred Fists and it worked like a charm.

On a side note, Otherwiki now lists Augur hands as a Chloris drop. Has this been verified? I looked through the drops thread and this thread, and didn't see anything about that.

Don't see why not. CSS is possible too, but impalement randomly one shotting is a good reason to use PD or powders instead.

Another good way to deal with Hundred fist is with a MNK tank with counterstance up. HP+30% atma can help a ton.

Ehh... how hard does it hit?

Keep in mind, you'll have shit defense with Counterstance up, and I'd wager Chloris can counter you as well. A short streak of bad luck and you'll be dead - and it can happen quick.

Edit: It hit like a pussy, my counter rate was surprisingly high for my hit rate which was only 76% because my Carobonara still hasn't wore when we popped Chloris.

Minhocao resists Souleater, can't remember if any other NMs do off the top of my head.
