I just hope they're not like all the other mobs in Abyssea and get harder the more often you kill them....

We farmed several popped Gigas NM's last night, of two different types, and we didn't see any noticeable difference from the first to last.

Maybe they just made it look easy, but that thing seemed pretty easy. Can someone tell what the item was that dropped with it besides the cape? Was it an Atma or some regular temp item?

They made it look easy. Look at it. that PLD had food on, VIT buffs, MP boost, HP boost, phalanx, regen, shadows, Protect V shell V and an aegis shield and was possibly level 80 as well and he got tore up in seconds when elegy wore. He attacks like byakko and hits like a truck.

All that for a crappy cape though and he probably drops a acc +, (weapon type) skill + head peice too. Not sure if gravity can land on him but if it can, he should be a joke like King Behemoth if he takes good magic damage.

Shitty pld doesn't even appear to gearswap and they have a full usu melee nin on it. Can't be too hard. Near the end when they have people kiting it it looks easily pathable on the pillars so it should probably be lowmannable using kiting strats.

I'm really hoping that there's a good piece of gear on his drop list because that brd cape is pretty underwhelming for a zone boss. STR12 helm drops off a free roaming NM and a song recast -3% cape drops off a zone boss. To me, there's something wrong here.

Fairly sure zone bosses will have multiple drops besides the headpieces at least. Wouldn't make sense otherwise.

Fame info:

Completed Gift of Light twice.
Completed Upgrading of Martellos (not Replenishing) once.
Completed The Angling Armourer ~40 times (mainly using AH bought Rusty Kunai)
Completed Water of Life once.
Completed Explosive Endeavors once.
Completed Unbreak his Heart 3 times (Willow Rod quest).

This was enough to get my Fame Lv6, the level needed for Out of Touch and the subsequent yummy Scarlet Abyssite of Kismet which increases blue casket drop rate.

On a related note, has anyone with Scarlet Abyssite of Kismet done any testing as to its effect on blue caskets? I'm out of time for now after spamming quests for fame so I haven't had a chance myself.

I've not noticed a difference as of yet. I saw no direct increase with the amount of reward so I'd assume it either refers to type or frequency.

Further info for fame: Completing "Unbreak His Heart" ten times increases your fame a single level.

just random fact, the normal worm mobs drop platinum ore with a decent frequency. got four in an hour. Not fantastic, but certainly a decent way to get some.

I have the abyssite myself, and we're doing a run around 10:30 pm PDT, so I'll test it tonight and see what results we get.

it was mentioned earlier that megamaw mikey goes into !! stun if you hit him with the same element spell as the day, not true from my test. hit him with stone on earthsday and nada. tried blizz like what happened for the previous poster, nothing. Had to be something else besides the Bliz 4 that caused him to stun.

Not really. It seems every time the mob pops, it has a different weakness. One instance we had Tefenet (Coeurl NM in Tahrongi) get a !! every time Bio II was cast. We made absolutely sure it was Bio II. Next pop, Bio II did nothing.

Hmm I remember reading that now that you said that. Wonder if the weakness is within a set grouping, like offensive spells, ws, enfeebles etc per nm, or (more likely, knowing SE) all of the above for any nm.

Since worms are Earth based maybe Stone won't work.

Is anyone able to translate what strength/color their light was they received at the end? Was it anything new or just the usual "feeble/faint" lights?

So, killed LaTheine Behemoth boss just now (I know JPs got it), seemed pretty easy...got a 2nd drop, legs with 10dex, 3acc, -10stp. Huge waste of time? Best part was title and some megalixir/revitalizer temp items.
