what kind of qd numbers are people getting on ovni? Never really tried qd spam before so I have no baseline and I thought i had decent gear but was only doing 220-240 a shot depending on rolls etc.
tried to do the math behind the qd formula and its not adding up..
Quick Draw Damage formula = 2*(Gun base DMG + Corsair's Tricorne bonus + bullet base DMG)*(1+(MAB/100))*(staff bonus)*(Day/Weather Bonus).
qd = 2 * (40 + 4 + 70) * (1 + ((8+5+7+avg 9 from rolls +)/100))*1.15*1.2(hailstorm obi+ ice day obi) = 405.8
qd = 2 * (40 + 4 + 70) * (1 + ((8+5+7+avg 9 from rolls + 24 rdm sub )/100))*1.15*1.2(hailstorm obi+ ice day obi) = 481
max I was getting yesterday was 240 ish (was nin sub first time, will rdm next time) and i think that was with an 11 wizards roll..
Takes even less time if you warp to conflux, nuke it once and check dmg, then just die to it and zone out. Tops 1 minute of time used if your not an idiot.
Also, theres a chance if you nuke it and try deaggroing it you might accidentally make it proc its -pdt, which would suck if you nuked it and it didnt have it, which would then result in making the following ls run slightly more annoying.
If you just die straight up you have a much less chance of accidentally pdt.
Besides, its not exactly hard getting 2K exp nowadays, 2 exp treasure chests and boom you got it back.

Also, non-forced pop (with rare trash mob drop) NMs in abyssea generally have 3 items. One is 100% (hachimaki generally, Shaolin belt here) one is a 50%+ rate (think the 13str mitts, augur body here), and one is a ~10% rate with no !!s (hochomasamune, af3, or bullwhip here).
Seems right, was doing this much with 11 roll on a max -DT(was not using 2hr anymore) Ovni yesterday.
On a side note this is the worst NM SE has ever made. Why do other people have to deal with this -DT shit when retards that try to solo it fail/time out. After 3 max -DT Ovnis in the past 3 days when we've started farming its really getting annoying.
For QD Numbers:
Did it today as 2x COR, 2x RDM (had full -DT when we got it, so they mostly stood around looking pretty).
I was on my cor mule with rather horrid QD gear and produced ~200 dmg QDs, other COR which has "stage 3 trial" DP did about 380-390 dmg QDs I think.
Edit: both cors were /nin, kited it amongst the trees at conflux #7.
nvm... DP = death penalty = cheating! (sarcasm)
another idea, does qd work with culverin/cannon shells for rng/cor or thf/cor since they have very comprable mab gear anyway..
it's obsessively camped around the clock on my server by several groups of people; I've never seen it up with -PD, only ever seen it pop anew. been lucky enough to not be outclaimed even once so far, but haven't seen a belt either. I'm surprised that so many people are finding it up and -PD, that just isn't happening here as far as I can see
Yes, /COR works as long as you're using marksmanship (crossbows work too, good for some lol's). I love THF/COR when it's appropriate, can give Evoker's and help Dispel or DD while using Collaborator - very fun way to play the job.

I tried to search this thread for any notes about amber lights but couldn't find too much. Anybody have any recommendations for mobs in La Theine which give amber light, mobs that give pearl and azure light, and mobs that don't give ruby light?
Basically I'm looking to recreate this strategy in La Theine:
1) Kill mobs for Azure, Pearl, and Amber (~20 each), no ruby at all
2) Find a really easy mob that does not give ruby and TP burn on them
