Not seen this anywhere, do the Farfadet pixies act like normal ones with curing/raising people if you don't have "pixie hate"? Are they affected by pixie hate in any way?

woulda been great if you posted the jp stuff too cos it'd make more sese than the translated stuff...
but as for trying to understand the "Feature" unconfirmed report.. i'm pretty sure it means when you log at the trees near Jugner in the NE of abyssea, it will pop.
afaict they dont behave like pixies at all outside of being engaged..
it just mean u log at tree near jugner and it'll spawn
lemme bring my pick axe along tomorrow doing la thiene XD
yes.. but if was linking to the wiki already, makes more sense to link to the actual article than the main page.
I just looked at it anyway, its an unconfirmed report. Worth trying I suppose. Trees near Jugner are empty and it'd make sense that stuff start popping there.
Probably got lost in the pages but has anyone got the Dried Squid item from Poroggo Dom Juan and attempted to see if you can fish using the item as bait? It's R/EX and precedent is already set in the zone as to NMs with drops being fishable.
Giant Squid = Giant Crab? Hm.
This could be the "unconventional means" that seem to involve the 3 VNM reskins.
well I need to farm an item from the trees, when the servers come back up, no events this week because shell holder is going out of town and some of the sacks have shit to take care of and can't be on this week, so I'll take a small group and go in and see what happens, worst comes to worst it kicks our ass but at least knowing it pops from that would be pleasing <_< also my OAT Katana wants to be finish FFS!
its possible..
Nahn is the first NM thats fished up and he drops a key item (Smoldering Crab Shell) that probably goes towards popping Karkinos.. tho maybe it has to be used in conjunction with the correct bait so that you don't potentially screw yourself over when you want to fish for normal stuff
in the missing thread apparently someone posted a report on 2ch that an NM drops Goading Belt and does crab moves.. most likely Karkinos (whats with crabs and +haste belts?) but they didnt say how to pop it
Well I suppose I could buy some bug eaten hats of the AH and add the poroggo to my ls's target list.
We're also going after Nahn so if I get the crab shell I'll see what I can do.
Inb4 the bait can pop the NM but 90% of the time some other anyone fish steals the bait.
It'll be matsya all over again
Do we have any information on Great Wasp and/or Chasmic Hornet? Like what TP moves they do, and do they have any new or different TP moves? I would like to know if they are a good target for an XP alliance and for farming Chasmic Hornets.
With enough stuns I could see wasps being ok, but I think you'd be better offf on the birds just north off the bees. Birds, bees, lol SE...
Bees have a wicked potent final sting move, one shotted our paladin several times, we try not to aggro them anymore
As for chasmic hornet, it likes to use hundred fists like its boost, and spams a pollen move that regenerates HP, alternates between the two.
Finishes off with a very hard hitting final sting that can instantly kill anyone who takes it, and seems to make it so you don't get anything if he manages to use it.
Thus, you'll want a LOT of stunners, like most abyssea mobs, for this guy. Whittle him down to 20% with your DDs whille keeping him stunned, then have them save up all their tp til he hits 15% and have them all unleash everything they have together to finish him off before he can final sting.
Easily handled with a full alliance, killed one of our guys halfway through when a stun was resisted, but other than that piece of cake.
Partial alliance (15) on Chasmic, PLD/BLU tank, took out 2-3 DDs when they took hate.. but otherwise wasn't too difficult. We only had two stunners IIRC, a BLM and a DRK, of which the DRK was dead towards the end.
Got the mantle though.![]()
Chasmic Hornet IS NOT as hard as Urat makes it sound, we killed it the 1st time we went to Abyssea (2nd day it came out) without knowing what to expect, we had 2 deaths and it was from BLMs going crazy. There's so many obstacles to kite around where it spawns, if you get hate just kite it around the fences where it spawns, it spams Pollen/Frenzy pollen (100 fist-like attack) but it spams them so often it basically keeps locking itself 2-3 seconds during animations which allows you to gain distance and the other melee to reliably hit it and eventually take hate off you.
Set up was: BLM/THF/RDM/BLM RNG/WAR/COR/DRK/SAM/WHM from top to bottom order

Pretty sure it can be 6manned, if you know what to expect.
Ah kiting would help yes, I was talking about all out head on attacking since Ring was discussing it for exping purposes.
Kiting would definitely help against the bee's hundred fists, but its also a slower way of killing. I prefer the more dangerous, fast paced hands on approach for abyssea NMs, especially since time is so precious. Id rather kill an NM 8 times and have a few deaths in one run than 2-3 times without deaths
Also; Someone was discussing how abyssea is like, a parallel universe. This makes some sense, as doesn't curilla say in normal timeline that she lost her eye when she was doing something along the lines of getting too cocky while fighting and injuring herself? Thats during the savage blade quest correct?
Killed the Honet last night with about 9 or 10 ppl. Was very easy, it hits fast like hundred fist but hits are extremely weak. I was drk and neither void drain II and dread spike and just sit and watch it kill itself while I have hate. We failed to stun the final sting move but still got stinger to drop, just no exp and no cruor.
When we did the chasmic hornet fight, we found that if you throw enough DDs on him he'll basically lock himself by spamming the two pollen moves from having so much tp. Made the fight substantially easier.
